That is a very lovely picture, Teresa. And I note with pleasure the rebellious tuft across his ear.... let us hope the barbarous barber isn't due for a visit just yet! But I would imagine we will see the results of his 'handiwork' over Christmas.

It was hard to decide how and where to post this, because Paparatzifan, with her seemingly inexhaustible archive of Cardinal Ratzi pics, posted some previously unseen pictures as part of a rather long but very amusing gag about Papa's pancino.So, the pictures as well as the gag make up just the thing to start the morning. Here goes:


Ratzi: Cardinal Bertone has advised me to eat more because in the future, a little belly will be pleasing!"


Ratzi: I don't know why he said that, but he must have a good reason!...Hmm, what can I do?...I know. I have a little party tonight. I'll ask my guests...


Ratzi: What do you think? What can I do to pad my belly?
Guest: But Eminence, look at me! I'd advise beer, fritters,
and sweets...What it is you are drinking?
Ratzi: Spumante [a champagne-like drink].
Guest: Even spumante should do it!


Ratzi: OK...let's start with fritters...

Paparatzifan has cut off the other person in the original picture, so we can just contemplate Ratzi in all his youthful glory ...
Too bad there's no way to get rid of the numbers.
I printed out the picture as an 8-1/2x11 and it's gorgeous but!
