Thank you. It's so good to be here and be able to post after of months and months of lurking. I used to read everything here and, most of all, to see everything.

Dear Friends,
I have e-mailed some of you about my sad news. When I arrived home from Rome yesterday my beloved husband, Hutch, was still about the same. But then he suddenly became worse, with the cough turning to a bad chest infection. I was able to collect Father Vincent to bring Hutch the Sacrament of Anointing. He then stayed to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet at Hutch's bedside and I went back to the church with Father for our Holy Hour. Today Hutch's condition deteriorated further and he died this evening, peacefully at 6.20 pm.
I feel well blessed that I had timed my Epiphany pilgrimage to conclude on Friday. The Lord certainly watches over us.
I have some photos to post [my camera, Father Bob's is no longer available!], but it may be some time before I get around to posting them and writing my little account. It's been a week of great happiness followed by sadness.
Love, Mary xxxxx

Very, very sorry
Mary, I am so terribly sorry about Hutch but very glad that you were able to be there with him at the end. He struggled for a long time.
Our dear neighbor died this week too after suffering for several months from pancreatic cancer. Despite his great grief at losing his wife of more than 50 years, her husband was relieved that she was no longer in pain.
May both these souls rest now in God's peace and love and may God comfort those they left behind.

Oh, Mary, dear friend, I am so very sorry!
These are really bad news and I am only glad that you have been with Hutch in his last moments.
It makes no difference how old a person is or if a person was suffering since a long time and one was probably prepared for the worst, if it happens, it is always a terrible shock and you must feel awful, dear Mary. I am very sad.
Be strong, Mary, we all will pray for you and for your beloved Hutch and we are with you in spirit. Hutch now has found his peace.
We all are in God's hand.

Dearest Mary, such sad news indeed, which I only just saw now. By your keeping us always updated about his condition, dear Hutch was really a part of this forum too. We are all feeling with you in your loss. My prayers are with you. The Lord will give you strength to face the time ahead. How good to know you were able to be with Hutch in his last moments. He is now safe in the Lord's hands. A tight hug and all my love,
Eva

Dear Mary, I just found out... My prayers are with you and Hutch,
with whom I have felt a bond since you first told us about him
more than five years ago now. The Lord timed everything properly
for you and him up to his earthly end. Now you have your own
special angel in heaven to watch over you. God bless...

Dearest Mary ... I see you've read my email. Today at Mass we had an intention for Hutch and at the Prayers of the Faithful you and all the ladies on the Forum were remembered. You are truly part of my family.
May the good Lord bless all of us as He has Hutch with the reward of His love and as they say ... 'the unveiled beauty' of His face.
Blessings to all today and always ...

Dear Papabear and everyone,
I'm so well blessed by your kindness, your Mass intentions and prayers. I'm just writing this now - very late or very early! - to let you know that I'm here and will be back on the forum soon. People phone me so much, which is wonderful, but means I don't get so much time for the computer.
I'm thrilled about JPII's beatification. Things in Benedict's pontificate just get better and better.
Please know that I am thinking of you all and I'll get back to normal eventually. I hardly realised that losing a husband of 35 years would be so terrible, but it is. He truly was half of me - the half that is left will take time to heal.
Love from Mary xxxxx

So many years! I miss mine even when he is out on business, I can't think what is to loose a husband.
When my grandmother died - I know it's not the same thing but, anyway - it looked like life was going to an end for me but, with time, things began to go to its place. I wanted to be like her, follow her example in many things.
Mary, now it's so difficult but think that, one day, you will be with him again.

Dear Friends, especially those who have written so kindly here, I've now uploaded most of my photos from my Epiphany visit to Rome. They are on the Visit With Papa thread. I've dedicated the whole thing to my darling husband, Hutch.
Do please have a look at them!
Love, Mary xx

Hotel accommodation over Easter in Rome to give away
Dear friends, last September I booked a hotel room in Rome for nine nights over the Easter period. As it turns out, due to circumstances beyond my control I won't be able to go. Because the booking was early it was at a special rate and cannot now be cancelled or altered. So if anyone among you would be interested to go, please contact me asap. The room is in the hotel Residenza Paolo VI (right next to St. Peter's Square), it's a single room, nine nights from April 16 to April 25.

Staying Alive
Well, everyone ... I can now really relate to "Staying Alive" ... on Jan 25, at home ... I had a heart attack and was hospitalized. The doctors performed a triple bypass and repaired part of my heart valve on Feb 2 - the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. Thanks be to God, all is going well with healing and recovery.
Please include me in your prayers for the sick. Missed you and all your postings and comments. This is the first time I've laid hands on my keyboard since then ....
Praise be Jesus Christ; May He always be praised!
