In a dark match prior to the NXT/Smackdown taping, Shelton Benjamin pinned the returning Joey Mercury (Joey Matthews), who was signed last year for a return to the Smackdown brand.
WWE World champion Jack Swagger comes out cutting a promo. He says he wants to inspire the entire WWE Universe. He says that at Extreme Rules, he's going to rip the head off Randy Orton and will take out the Viper.
*John Morrison pinned World champion Jack Swagger with Starship Pain. Huge pop. Obviously, a non-title match. This was great stuff.
*There will be a steel cage match later.
*There is what appears to be a barber's stool set up on the stage.
*The Straight Edge Society is complaining the Teddy Long about Rey Mysterio cutting CM Punk's hair. Long orders Punk & Luke Gallows vs. Rey Mysterio & Kane later tonight.
Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy & R-Truth when Hardy via referee's decision when it was ruled Hardy could not continue. McIntyre attacks Hardy after the match. The referees and Truth carry out Hardy.
*The Cage is lowered.
**Chris Jericho and Wade Barrett come out and enter the ring. Jericho says he will end Edge's career tonight and there will be "No More Spears." Edge comes out on stage and mocks Jericho for losing to Heath Slater on NXT. He says he has nothing to lose and hits the ring. Barrett and Jericho attack Edge. Jericho avoids the spear. Edge spears Barrett instead and the crowd goes nuts.
*Edge is limping as he returns to the back.
*JTG vs. Mike Knox. Shad Gaspard is the guest ring announcer. JTG defeated Knox by pinfall. Shad attacks JTG and slaps him with belts. He then begins choking him with them and walks out.

A barber's chair has been brought to ringside.
*The Straight Edge Society defeated Kane & Rey Mysterio when Punk rolled up Rey. Kane punched Luke Gallows out of the ring and chased him to the back. Mysterio went for a 619 but Serena got involved. Punk and Rey went back and forth and Punk ended up in the barber's chair. Mysterio tried to shave his head but Punk escaped.

1. John Morrison defeated Jack Swagger in a non-title match. Morrison won via Starship Pain in a great TV match.
2. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy and R-Truth. The heels won via ref stoppage when McIntyre curb stomped Hardy on the ring steps.
Edge and Chris Jericho
delivered mic work inside a steel cage. Edge ended up spearing Jericho's NXT protege Wade Barrett. Good segment that should come off well on television.
3. JTG defeated Mike Knox in 2:00. Baffling. Shad Gaspard beat the crap out of JTG with a belt. The live crowd didn't care.
4. Layla and Michelle McCool (w/Vickie Guerrero) defeated Mickie James and Beth Phoenix. Layla pinned Mickie. The match was a mess. In a segment that will be edited, Layla couldn't find the ironing board under the ring. She eventually found it and they beat down Bet. The crowd chanted "You can't find it" for the most awkward three minutes of the night. Layla and Michelle then stole Shannon Moore's gimmick and wrote on Beth with lipstick. The match and segment bombed live.
5. C.M. Punk and Luke Gallows (w/Serena) defeated Rey Mysterio and Kane. The heels won via blocked roll-up. Kane chased away Gallows. Punk jumped Rey, who teased shaving Punk. Serena blocked Rey from following through with the shaving and they both powdered out of the ring to conclude the Smackdown taping.

Vero che settimana scorsa ha battuto Morrison e pinnato Jericho....ma vedere il campione perdere due match in una settimana soprattutt con Morrison da l'idea di come il titolo mondiale oggi sia praticamente disponibile a chiunque.... |

probabilmente si sono ricordati solo ora che prima di WM il povero Swagger vinceva contro Santino e perdeva contro chiunque...
stanno cercando di fare in modo che il suo push non risulti 'campato in aria' ma graduale... così facendo sembra pero' che Swagger abbia avuto solo una gran botta di c..o nel Mitb e nient'altro...
questo sempre per l'effetto sorpresa 'immotivato' in alcuni casi...
vabbe' poi, mettiamoci che è un heel e il tutto si completa... |
