questions

i'm opening this thread because i seem to have many questions that i keep asking in the wrong threads... and they are questions to satisfy my hunger for understanding a people that i no longer have contact with...

so maybe i can satisfy my hunger to understand and not be OT

now question number one...

why is it that in italy you must be 18 -- an adult -- to get your drivers license? what is the rational behind it?

i'm not sure i will agree with it... after all i've been driving since i was 15...

Because before 18 in their opinion you are too young and immature to drive a car...

yes. For example I've been taking driving lessons (from my father) since I was 14 but it's illegal

if you are immature at the age of 16 to drive a car, why are you mature enough to drive a motor bike at the age of 14... in my opinion the two wheel vehicle if far more dangerous than the car... at least to the life of the young driver...

I am agree with you...however, here in Italia driver licenses for motorcycles will take when you are sixteen.

still younger than a car driver... i'm not sure i understand the criteria that discriminates between the two driving ages.

Oh I think the same cause four wheels are relatively safer than two wheels and I don't know why govern think the opposite

because a car can go faster than a motorbike...

yes but the two wheels are always more dangerous than cars

indeed they are... a friend of mine just had an accident on his motorcycle and has been suffering terribly... a car cut him off and he had to slam his brakes... well, doing so on a motorbike is extremely detrimental to your health... he went flying through the air and skidding across the cemented street peeling his skin off...
if he had been in a car i don't think he would have suffered much by slaming his breaks...

it is exactly what I meant but Italian govern think the opposite
