well, pillars of creation (PoC) was the first book i read when it was first publish... i had no idea it was a series but the two pages i read, from the middle, caught my interest and i left the library with the book...

for almost the entire book i truely believed that Richard Rahl and the Mother Confessor were the bad people...

the end was shocking to me -- my god, Richard was the good guy...

so... when i began reading the series starting with Wizard's First Rule, i've always watched Richard carefully. many times he came across as an individual who also wanted to rule the world his way...

Good post singularity, The first book of the series that I've read is Wizard's first rule so I can't believe from the beginning that Richard was the bad guy but I agree with you. In this novel,if you didn't read the series from the beginning, Richard is described as the bad guy of the book
" I'm the one of the prophecies. I AM Fuer Grissa OSt Drauka. I'm the true Seeker of Truth because I'm the only one who could make the blade become white. I'm Lord Rahl and I'm searching my Mother Confessor......."

You have reason..... I think this book is only a little under the others livel but it's interesting too...

I gather it's not one of your favorites? many have a problem with this book... for some it's just because it's not about richard and kalhan...

Oh I understand your opinion but it isn't the reason 'cause I said Pillars of Creation is under the others livel, I only prefer the other, but I think this novel is necessary to arrive at the final fight because in this book there are some information that Richard use to defeat the Imperial Order. It' my opinion right?

absolutely... and i gathered from other threads you like the first book Wizard's first rule... and i can understand why, some parts of that book i really love... my favorite is faith of the fallen with a close behind of confessor... still, even though they are my favorites i have a soft spot for pillars of creation...

did you actually like this particular book, if you did like it what is it you like?

i really like how the --- sorry i have a way of foretting names --- the guy with the white hair, the strategist of the emperor, --- i like the way is distorted view of love came across and all because of a terrible philosophy he grew up with the order...

Oh you certanly talk about Sebastian the man that fall in love with Jennsen right? I think the same of this character, in the book what he feel for Jennsen I think was real love but he had only to thank Jagang if he can't stay with her until death divides them or at least try to do this.
You said "did you actually like this particular book, if you did like it what is it you like?"
I don' understand the meaning but are you asked me what is the book I like best?

i don't think that sebastian really loved jensen... i truely believe that what he felt was a mixture of lust and selfishness... definitely not real love... the philosophy of the order does a good job at eliminating such pure and noble feelings.
