Sad news for those who were or still are excited about the
announcement for the theatrical version of Ginga Tetsudô Monogatari.
The project has been cancelled.
Short history flashback on the project, originally Gekijôban Ginga
Tetsudô Monogatari was scheduled for a three week screening at the
Akihabara Oriental Comic Theater in late October.
After the release date neared, it was officially postponed to
"this winter" (2004 of course) and then no news about it at all.
The anime list at Moonphase lists it to be released in winter 2005,
however that´s not correct anymore.
The movie has been cancelled (due to problems with the Oriental
Comic Theater if I understood that correctly), BUT there´ll be a
DVD release that makes this news more pleasant ^_^
The movie for Ginga Tetsudô Monogatari was supposed to be a summary
movie of the TV series (a compilation) with additional scenes.
Scheduled for April 2005 the following DVD will be released:
Ginga Tetsudô Monogatari ~ Sôshûhen ~ DVD
Release Date: 2005/04/29 (Fri). | Price: TBA
The content of the Sôshûhen DVD is not announced yet and according
to fans it´s supposed to contain the compilation of the TV series
(maybe what should have been released as the movie).
In commemoration of this release there´ll be a premium screening
held a few days before the release date of the DVD on 2005/04/23
at the Fuji Television Multi-Theater.
The theater has a capacity of only 135 seats and there´ll be 2
screenings held. Information on where to get a ticket as well as
price, etc. will be announced in near future.
