    The first Galli arrived in Rome when the Senate officially adopted Cybele as a state goddess
    in 204 BC.[1] Roman citizens were prohibited from becoming Galli, which meant that all the
    Galli were orientals or slaves. Under Claudius, this ban was lifted.[2] Eventually Domitian
    reaffirmed that Roman citizens were forbidden to practice eviratio (castration).[3]

    The Galli castrated themselves during an ecstatic celebration called the Dies sanguinis,
    or "Day of Blood", which took place on March 24.[4] At the same time they put on women's
    costume, mostly yellow in colour, and a sort of turban, together with pendants and ear-rings.
    They also wore their hair long, and bleached, and wore heavy make-up. They wandered around
    with followers, begging for charity, in return for which they were prepared to tell fortunes.
    On the day of mourning for Attis they ran around wildly and disheveled. They performed dances
    to the music of pipes and tambourines, and, in an ecstasy, flogged themselves until they bled.[3]

    Origins of the name

    Stephanus Byzantinus said that the name came from King Gallus.[5] Ovid (43 BC - 17 AD) says that the name is derived from the Gallus river in Phrygia.[6] The term Gallus is also a multiple pun in Latin, meaning a Gaul, or a rooster, as well as a castrated priest.[7][8][9]

    While these efforts at "folk" etymologies were widespread in classical times, it has been suggested that gallu comes from the Sumerian Gal meaning "great" and Lu meaning "man", humans or sexually ambivalent demons that freed Inanna from the underworld.[10] They originally seem to have been consecrated to the god Enki.

    By coincidence there was a category of Mesopotamian priests called kalu; in Sumerian gala. These priests played the tympanum and were involved in bull sacrifice. Another category of Mesopotamian priests called assinnu, galatur, and kurgarru had a sacred function. These transgender or eunuch priests participated in liturgical rites, during which they were costumed and masked. They played music, sang, and danced, most often in ceremonies dedicated to the goddess Ishtar.[11]
    The Galli and Attis

    Fundamental to understanding the meaning and the function of the myth and ritual related to Attis in Rome is his relationship with the Galli. The role of prototype of the mythical castration of Attis for the institution of the "priesthood" of the Galli has almost always been emphasised, even if to different degrees. Scholars have attempted to draw a connection between the episode of the castration of Attis and the ritual mutilation of the Galli as a reflection in myth of a secondary ritual action or conversely, as the mythical foundation of a ritual action. This kind of interpretation appears to be too simplistic as, to some extent, it fails to consider that this connection has served different purposes in different periods. The emasculation of Attis in the "Phrygian" version of the myth is the basis for an institution that is both political and religious, the institution of his priests in Pessinous, the "non-kings", who don't simply coincide with the Galli.

    The earliest references to the Galli come from the Anthologia Palatina although they don't explicitly mention emasculation. More interesting is the fragment attributed to Callimachus, in which the term Gallai denotes castration that has taken place.[12]

    The high priests are well-documented from archaeology. At Pessinus, the centre of the Cybele cult, there were two high priests during the Hellenistic period, one with the title of "Attis" and the other with the name of "Battakes". Both were eunuchs.[13] The high priests had considerable political influence during this period, and letters exist from a high priest Attis to the kings of Pergamon, Eumenes II and Attalus II, inscribed on stone. Later, during the Flavian period, there was a college of ten priests, not castrated, and now Roman citizens, but still using the title "Attis".[14]

    In Rome, the head of the galli was known as the archigallus, at least from the period of Claudius on. A number of archaeological finds depict the archigallus wearing luxurious and extravagant costumes. The archigallus was always a Roman citizen chosen by the quindecimviri sacris faciundis, whose term of service lasted for life.[15]

    Being a Roman citizen, as well as being employed by the Roman State, meant that the archigallus had to preserve the traditions of Cybele's cult while not violating Roman prohibitions in religious behavior. Hence, some argue that the archigallus was never a eunuch, as all citizens of Rome were forbidden from emasculation.[16] However, under Claudius Roman citizens were permitted to be castrated up until the reign of Domitian. The signs of his office have been described as a type of crown, possibly a laurel wreath, as well as a golden bracelet known as the occabus.[17]

    Along with the institution of the archigallus came the Phrygianum sanctuary as well as the rite of the taurobolium as it pertains to the Magna Mater, two aspects of the Magna Mater’s cultus that the archigallus held dominion over.[17]

    “Around 200 BC the holy black rock of the goddess [Cybele] was moved from the Phrygian city of Pessinos, which had been the previous centre of her worship. Rome became the new centre, and her cult grew. The Romans identified Cybele with the Greek Rhea, and called her Magna Mater, the Great Mother. The priests of the cult were men who had castrated themselves in front of her image, but most of the followers were women. The cult was a tumultuous, noisy and ecstatic affair which attracted many people. Only women (and castrated men) were allowed to attend the main celebrations of the goddess, which quickly got the reputation of being less religious ritual and more wild orgies. Much gossip went around about the indecencies and depravities of the cult, but due to the protection of influential people it avoided persecution. The cult was led by the female priestesses and the Archigalli, the high priest of the subordinate Galli; castrated male priests who were responsible for most of the dance, divination and healing of the cult. Many of the worshipers were organised into fraternities, most notably the Dendrophori (“Tree-bearers”) and Cannophori (“Reed-bearers”). Members of these fraternities enjoyed a bit of social status and influence, and many important people flocked to them. The liturgy of the cult was in Greek. Many of the ceremonies commemorated the deeds of Magna Mater and her love to Attis, who represented the fertility and plants of the land. By his castration and death the land was given new life. Many festivals were held, called ludi (“plays”) which were enthusiastic carnivals with banquets and comedic performances.

    One of the major festivals was Megalesia the 4-10 April. At the height of the celebrations the taurobolium was performed, as a bull was castrated and sacrificed, and new initiates were baptised in its blood. Another major festival was celebrated the 25th March to commemorate the castration and death of Attis. The Cannophori carried reeds and stalks to the temple together with the idol of Attis. The taurobolium was performed, and the genitals of the bull was thrown into a cave or well consecrated to Magna Mater. After three days of sorrow and grief for Attis, the carnival returned with Hilaria, the Day of Joy as Attis was resurrected and fertility yet again reigned thanks to the power of Magna Mater. Mountains and caves were sacred to Magna Mater, and her temples were often built near them. By sleeping in a temple many women hoped to get help from the goddess, who was said to help mothers and children. Midwifes were tied to the cult, and many priests were healers. The priestesses were more involved with her ecstatic side, celebrating her secret mysteries behind locked doors.     Contrary to complementarian claims, was there cult prostitution in the “Greco-Roman world”? Yes, prostitution was well-known in throughout the Roman Empire from Corinth and Cyprus to Lydia and Phrygia, and it was commonly associated with various cults. “Orgia” (orgies) were also connected with the “mystery rites” of the Lydian/Phrygian goddess known as Cybele.

    Were there “eunuch priests”? Yes, the priests of the goddess Cybele castrated themselves in her honor. This practice continued in the Roman Empire through the New Testament era, and into the reign of Emperor Julian, who became an initiate of Cybele’s mysteries, in the caverns of Ephesus.

    Was Cybele worship connected to Ephesus? Yes, one of her most ancient sanctuaries was found there (http://www.sacred-texts.com/wmn/rca/rca03.htm#fn_65). Archaeologists report that she was worshiped there “from Classical through Roman times.” Julian was reported to have become an initiate in the caverns of Ephesus, as late as the 4th century A.D..     Sandan (Sandon o Sandas) in greco (Ϲάνδην) è il nome di una divinità pagana, figura centrale del mondo religioso dell'antica Tarso (Ταρσός). Sandan fu spesso considerato l'omologo di Adone (Siria), di Attis (Frigia), di Osiride (Egitto) e di Tammuz (Babilonia). Era una divinità della terra, ma anche un dio infero che mandava pestilenze[1].

    Sandan nell'arte classica

    Esistono diversi reperti antichi su cui è raffigurata l'immagine di Sandan. Lo schema iconografico che lo rappresenta è in piedi, con una ghirlanda in mano, una faretra sulle spalle e un leone con due lunghe corna al suo fianco. Altri schemi iconografici lo collocano all'interno di una edicola triangolare, posta su di una pira e sormontata da un'aquila[2].

    Sandan e il leone di piazza San Marco

    Il leone posto sopra la colonna che tuttora sovrasta piazza San Marco a Venezia è un ibrido fra un leone e un grifone prodotto nel primo ellenismo orientale ad opera di un artista greco o greco-ionico, fra la fine del IV e l'inizio del III secolo a.C. Secondo numerosi studiosi questo sarebbe stato un monumento eretto a Sandan, protettore della città di Tarso[3]. Qui, secondo gli studi degli archeologi, esisteva intorno al III secolo un monumento in cui la divinità appariva su un grande leone alato e cornuto, di aspetto compatibile con quello del leone di San Marco. Tarso fu sede vescovile almeno fino al VI secolo ed è plausibile che questa statua sia stata abbattuta perché ritenuta pagana, riducendola ad una semplice raffigurazione leonina (un grifone con la testa di leone). Sarebbero stati i mercanti veneziani, abili nel portare in patria le bellezze di altri paesi a impadronirsi della statua (che aveva già perso la sua caratteristica raffigurazione di Sandan) e a trasportarla via mare a Venezia[4].

    La religiosità popolare

    A Tarso dal punto di vista religioso (e fatta eccezione per gli Ebrei della diaspora) le divinità pagane che si erano imposte su tutte le altre erano due: il giovane dio fattivo Sandan, che alcuni identificano con Heracles[6], principale divinità[7] e un'antichissima divinità, forse l'anatolico Tarku[8], il dio eccelso, chiamato Baal-Tarz o anche Zeus,

    Entrambi erano l'espressione del rispetto che le popolazioni dell'antica Cilicia nutrivano per la fecondità della terra, i suoi ritmi, i suoi misteri e i suoi frutti. Durante l'anno le loro statue venivano adorne con le primizie della terra: fasci di spighe, tralci di viti e fiori.

    Iscrizioni e invocazioni sul dio Sandan

    Dallo studio di un frammento di un papiro rinvenuto a Ossirinco, chiamato dagli studiosi Gigantiade (Gigantias)[9] sono emerse indicazioni rilevanti su Sandan. Contrariamente a quanto sostenuto da successivi studiosi, lo scriba Dionisio Bassarico identificato l'autore epico del papiro della Gigantiade, utilizza il nome Sandan per distinguerlo dall'omologo Heracles. Su una tavoletta di Boğazkale (Bogaz Köy) è descritto un rito ittita in cui si sacrifica una capra per allontanare da una casa la pestilenza e il dio Marduk con i suoi ministri detti Innarawanta in lingua ittita, cui corrispondono in luvio[10] Sandan e gli Annarummenzi. Interessante è anche un'iscrizione in lingua lidia pervenutaci da Sardi, in cui si invoca Sandan contro chiunque violi una tomba. Un testo ittita menziona Sandan e una sua statua, insieme a quella di un personaggio femminile, la dea Iyaya, che sembra essere la sua paredra[11]

    Sandan nelle monete dell'Impero

    Associare l'immagine dell'imperatore a quelle delle divinità, era un modo per affermare l'origine sovrannaturale del potere dell'imperatore. La moneta non era solo uno strumento economico, ma era 'anche uno strumento di propoganda e d'informazione'[12]. Questa tendenza si era manifestata durante la campagna contro Pompeo, nella quale Cesare emise monete con immagini di Venere ed Enea, con l'obiettivo di sostenere l'ipotesi di una sua discendenza divina. Diverse monete con il dio Sandan sono giunte fino a noi. Queste raffigurazioni sono state incise sul retro delle monete degli imperatori Caracalla e Macrino, mentre un'altra particolare raffigurazione è quella riportata sul retro della moneta di Antioco VIII Gripo che lo mostra all'interno di una pira sormontata da un'aquila.

    I festeggiamenti in onore di Sandan

    Come narra Dione Crisostomo[13], ogni anno, in suo onore, si celebravano grandi feste sulla piazza del mercato con danze e canti. Una grande pira su cui era stata collocata la statua del dio veniva bruciata con solennità. La cerimonia aveva dapprima carattere funebre, ma subito dopo seguiva fra incomposte sfrenatezze la celebrazione della resurrezione del dio: era la rappresentazione della natura vegetativa che moriva sotto gli strali cocenti del sole per risorgere a vita nuova. Una idea, questa, che stava alla base di quasi tutte le religioni orientali e dei loro culti misterici e che 'influenzò forse Shaul Paolo (Saulo di Tarso, l'apostolo) con quell'immagine dell'apoteosi del dio morente e risorto'.[14] Queste feste erano ancora in vigore e molto seguite, anche al tempo della prima fanciullezza di Paolo. 'L'espressione paolina, apparentemente indecifrabile, rivestirsi in Cristo, può essere il frutto, magari indiretto, di quelle antiche consuetudini cittadine'[15].

    We can see the connectivity between the perfect cube – 27, the speed of light,the Universe and every measurement of Time. We know from Einstein’s theory of relativity that E=MC squared. The reciprocal conversion of energy and mass is therefore also connected to 27. We further propose that since we have the speed of light, the speed of light squared and the perfect cube (27),then it follows as a logical extension that a similar equation must exist at the speed of light cubed. That equation is T=MC cubed. Let us refer to this as The Downes Inverse Cube Law of Time.. We state that ‘Time begins and ends at the speed of light cubed’.     Here is more regarding the harmonic number 729, I believe it to be very important in the grand scheme of things.
    9 x 9 = 81, 81 x 9 = 729!

    In the 9 x 9 x 9 cube (connected to the moon) the volume is 729 while the surface area is 486 (729 = 1.5 x 486). 729 is the number equivalent of Cephas (Aramaic for rock), the name given to Simon Peter ("You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas."), while 486 is the equivalent of rock (Greek petra), as in 'Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church'.

    729 is the smallest odd number greater than 1 that is both a cubic number and a square number (9 cubed and 27 squared). The smallest even number (greater than one) that works is 64 (4 cubed and 8 squared like the checker board).

    3x9=27 2+7=9

    6x3=18 1+8=9
    6x6=36 3+6=9
    6x9=54 5+4=9

    9x3=27 2+7=9

    9x9x9=729

    The 27 by 27 magic square has been dubbed the Calendar Square, because it has the number 365 at the center (Enoch lived 365 years), and because 729 is said to represent 365 days and 364 nights. The Sum of the whole 27x27 square is 9,855 being the number of days in a 27 year period. The Sum of the inner and central 3x3 square is 1,095 being the number of days in a 3 year period. The Sum of the central 9x9 square is 3,285 being the number of days in a 9 year period. Note that there are nine 9x9 squares in the figure.

    The cube is the 9x9x9 cube while the courtyard is 27x27, where the surface area of one is the volume of the other. The 4x4x4 cube occupies the center of the 8x8 square (the checkerboard) in the same manner.

    The name Cephas was not chosen at random for, by gamatria, it amounts to 729, and represents the CUBIC foundation stone facing. This number was most important to Plato, and the Pythagoreans; not only is it a Cube (9 X 9 X 9), but it is also a Square (27 X 27), and is associated with the Solar year.

    The gematria of Αρσιησισ, a Greek rendering of Harsiesis which means 'Horus Son of Isis', = 729.

    Could 729 Hz relate to 3,6,9 in any way? I believe it does. Let's also remember that 729hz is the resonant frequency of 432hz. Wink

    Also the constellation Cepheus is right next to the north pole, and Alpha Cephei (Alderamin) is the right arm of King Cepheus which spins so fast that its equator whirls at more than half a million miles per hour. They found that the star is about 27 percent fatter through the equator than through the poles. No one knows for sure why Alderamin spins so fast. It will also because of precession, be the north pole star in 7500 AD.

    Concerning astrology, the stars in the king are very, very good to have in ones chart, Alderamin in paran with Sol would be ideal. Alderamin was also Gandhi's heliacal setting star. Wink

    The Significance of the cube of nine

    The following diagram depicts 729-as-cube together with a representation of its superficial area - 6 x 9 x 9, or 486, ie two-thirds of 729:

     

    We read in John 1:42: Then he (Andrew) brought Simon to Jesus, who looked at him and said, "You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas". Both Cephas (Aramaic) and Peter (Greek) mean rock. Elsewhere (the Lord speaking again of Peter), we read: "...on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."(Mt. 16:18).

    The New Testament word meaning 'a large mass of rock' is 'Petra' (as opposed to 'Petros' - which means 'boulder'). Based on the Greek scheme of alphabetic numeration, here are the characteristic values of Cephas and Petra:

     

    We therefore learn that Petra, the massive Rock, is the surface of the cube whose solidity is Cephas!

    It follows that the numerical symbolism attending the chequerboard of chequerboards - ie the 64x64 square currently occupying our attention - features not only our Lord Jesus Christ, but also the 'perfect stone' on which he has promised to build his church!

    Of further significance are

    • the biblical description of Christ himself as Rock (Ro.9:33, 1Co.10:4)

    • the Hebrew word with the same meaning ('tsur') having the characteristic value 296 (ie 8x37) - factor of the both 'Jesus' and 'Christ', and value of the 7th word of Genesis 1:1!

    Posso creare diversi tipi di cubi magici 3x3x3 senza contare ma muovendo geometrie particolari percepite da dentro.

    conosco questi linguaggi celesti che ricordo a tratti, come amici perduti e dimenticati, come films gia visti, di cui non ricordi i titoli, le storie, i nomi degli attori ma sai benissimi che li hai visti...



    Quel grande quadrato magico 27 per 27 (che puo' essere chiamato anche 999) mai visto prima, l'ho riconosciuto subito e puo' essere sviluppato facilmente con diversi metodi senza fare nessun conteggio ma seguendo impulsi interiori legati al quadrato magico di saturno replicati in scala maggiore con diversi sistemi per avere anche con procedure diverse, gli stessi risultati...
