Ho trovato questo ma e' in inglese.

    XR1200 Luggage Rack Installation Guide.

NOT Sponsored or Affiliated with Harley Davidson in any way!

SIMPLIFIED, Please READ ALL before Starting.

1: Keep Original Instructions supplied with Rack for Reference.
2: Remove BOTH Seats and Seat Cowl=Plastic Seat Shell. 5 Bolts, 3 Front, 2 Rear.
in NUPLATES. Nutplates mean Nuts are attached to frame and
Require no Wrench or holding Device from back side.
3: NEVER “Throw ANY Hardware away” that is removed to install this Rack.
4: DO NOT Remove Turn Signal Bolts as Described in Item 3 of Removal Guide
    Supplied with the Rack.
-All Explanations will be Listed at the End of this Guide.-
5: Item 4 of Harley Guide, ONLY Remove REAR Screws shown in Item 6 of
Figure 1 in Original guide. These Screws have Nuts on them and require a
Wrench or Socket on the Backside for Removal.
LOOSEN the Front Screws of Item 6 = Fender Support Screws Lightly, these
have Nutplates and require No Wrench on backside to loosen. As you will notice
in Figure 1, Item 6 it shows both Rear and Forward Screws being Removed,
    NOT SO.
6: With REAR Fender Support Screws removed and Front ones Loosened, you
Can now PIVOT the ENTIRE REAR Section of Frame Upwards
for EASY Access to the Lower part of the Frame for Mounting the Lower Rack
    Mount Assembly.
It WILL Pivot on the Screws/Bolts which are the Forward Fender Support
Screws which are Forward of the Front Screw 1, in Figure 1.
7: H-D Instructions say Install Rack now. NO WAY! The Large Center Hole
WILL NOT fit over the Nuts described, H-D (Item 2 in Figure 1) without
BACKING OUT the Silver Screws that Protrude about 1” thru those Nuts first.
This can be done with a Battery Screw Gun/Drill or Manually with a Crosstip
Screwdriver until they are Flush with the Nutplates.
8: NOW, test Fit Lower Mount in Place, Clearing Turn Signal Wires as Described.
Once Fitted, Start Installation. You will only be Installing 4 Screws/Bolts. Items 1
in Figure 1, of the H-D Instructions. The Rear Number 1 Screw in Figure 1
will go in first. NEVER fully tighten Installed Screws/Bolts till ALL are in and
the Position of the Rack is Verified. Just Snug them allowing SLIGHT
Movement of the Rack for Hardware Installation. Lower the Frame and
INSTALL the Front Item 1 Screws in the Rack Mount. TIGHTEN ALL Screws
that were Replaced, Installed and/ Loosened.
9: Reinstall Seat Cowl installing Front 3 Bolts Loosely FIRST.
10: Install Upper Luggage Rack Mount ON TOP of Seat Cowl, Use STOCK Bolts
removed from under Rear Pillion Seat in 2 Rear Cowl Mount Holes after
Removing Metal Spacers from Stock Bolts, Upper Mount has Spacers Built in.
Install Rear Upper to Lower Rack Mount Bolts, Number 3 Figure 2. Install
Plastic Luggage Rack to Installed Mounts that you have Installed. ENSURE
Correct Torque on ALL Hardware. Install Seats. DONE!

EXPLANATION of Non-Removal of Turn Signals! The MOUNT Screw System
described in the FACTORY Installation Guide would have you use Bolts thru PLASTIC for additional Mount Points. Problem is that the Plastic Flange that
the Turn Signals are mounted to is VERY far away from ANY Metal parts and
using ANY bolts thru the Mount FLEXES the Plastic INWARD, Warping and
POSSIBLY Cracking/Breaking this Plastic Part. These 4 Screws are NOT NEEDED for the Security of the Rack Mount System. ALL Factory Hardware on the Turn Signals should clear the Lower Rack Mount when installed.

    ENJOY!!!!
