Parade Ground are a belgian band , created by two brothers , Jean-Marc Pauly and Pierre Pauly in 1981. They were pioneers of cold wave and EBM . Their first single 'Moan on the sly', was released in 1983 and they remained active until now (allthough they decided not to release anything between 1988 and 2007 , being involved in other artistic projects such as writing and plastic art . Their style evolved during the years 1980 passing from an icy and radical cold wave to more danceable sound with stressed rythmics and exclusively synthetic melodies , sustained by an onirical dadaïst visual . They regularly collaborated with members of belgian band Front 242 , have worked with english producer Colin Newman from Wire

Peripheral Minimal is proud to present the début physical album by mysterious French act 'Mad Masks'

'Mad Masks' originate from the French Alps, and consist of members 'Zio Voodoo' and 'Dominique Stela'. The band started in 2013 to record music inspired by dark soundtracks.

Their sound is a mélange of slowly moving atmospheric heavily processed guitar and looping continuous drum-machine, with darkly Gothic overtones. Think of early recordings on cult UK label 4AD, combined with chilling post-punk dirges, and you'd be halfway there. 'Mad Masks', are a genre onto themselves perhaps, as direct categorisation would be near impossible. The accompanying videos to their tracks are from obscure or forgotten Horror films from the 1960s / 70s, occultism, religious fanaticism and fantastical mythical creatures feature heavily, betraying their influences. The album is sure to find itself becoming a cult classic and a must-have for anyone into unsettling and uneasy music.

The Moons At Your Door consists of two pieces, The Moons At Your Door and There Is A GraveYard That Dwells In Man. All images on the vinyl and CD editions reproduce paintings by David, which illustrate one of the stories in his forthcoming anthology of supernatural fiction, which is also titled The Moons At Your Door, and is published by Strange Attractor Press.

The vinyl edition consists of one 12” record, pressed on opaque white vinyl, housed in her sleep in a gatefold sleeve. The CD edition is cosily tucked away in a digipak gatefold sleeve. The painting on the back of the LP sleeve differs from the painting on the back of the CD sleeve.

Strange Attractor Press inform us that this will now be published in early December. All those who have ordered the book from www.DavidTibet.com will receive them as soon as we get them. It now seems that the chapbook, which was to feature originally a story by Algernon Blackwood, will now be another story by a different author, as the Blackwood story will be added to the book. In fact, advance orders for this volume, and comments to us all, have been so encouraging that Strange Attractor will be publishing a second anthology by me next year, gathering together more of the stories and texts that have influenced, and moved, me so profoundly.

"Strange Culture (OST): In 2007, Director/artist Lynn Hershman-Leeson heard of a strange situation of an artist being arrested as a bioterrorist due to the fact that his 'art' used harmless mold. She gathered a number of friends to make a film to bring more attention to the artist's plight. Among the friends were Tilda Swinton and The Residents who had worked with Ms Hershman on her previous film, Conceiving Ada. The Rivers of Hades: An aural art piece, Chaos Is Not Just A Theory, was written by The Residents in 2007 to accompany the release of The Residents toy figures designed by Steve Cerio. The sound installation was not included in the final gallery presentation, however, and the essence of the much larger project was reduced to this piece, The Rivers of Hades. Haeckel's Tale: The Showtime Channel has a long running horror TV series, Masters of Horror. The season included a Clive Barker story, Haeckel's Tale. Director, John McNaughton (Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer), was employed to oversee the project. McNaughton called in The Residents to score the film after having worked with them on a previous film, Condo Painting. For unknown reasons, the score was not used for the broadcast. Of these three 2007 projects overseen by Charles Bobuck, only The Rivers of Hades has been released on CDr in an extremely limited fan edition. This is the first release of Haeckel's Tale and Strange Culture on CD."

Proto-industrial guitar-hero Helios Creed first came to prominence in 1978 with Chrome, a brilliant acid-punk band whose use of primitive electronics, heavily distorted guitar, moog, apocalyptic tape loops, and copious amounts of acid, was unlike anything that had ever come before. From 1978-1982 Chrome released one brilliant LP after another, before finally splitting up in 1983. Creed's highly anticipated first solo LP, X-Rated Fairy Tales, basically picked up where Chrome left off, only this time with a more driving industrial sound. 180 gram HQ vinyl LP + bonus CD of the album.

"A second release by Belgian favorites Linear Movement. The collection entitled The Linear Way marks our 59th release on Minimal Wave and continues our celebration of 10 years as a label. The album is a collection of warm melodic electronic pop songs that have for the most part remained unreleased until now. Linear Movement is Belgian mastermind Peter Bonne (A Split-Second, Twilight Ritual, Autumn) joined by Peter Koutstaal, and Lieve Van Steerteghem contributing vocals on the final track. The songs 'The Linear Way' and 'Don't Try To Trick Me' appeared on the exquisite Pulse Music cassette (released by the Micrart Group in 1983) while the rest were never officially released. Our last collection of Linear Movement material entitled On the Screen came out in 2008 and is now long sold out. We're very excited to present this special archival album and finally make these tracks available. The Linear Way LP will be presented in a heavy quality full color printed sleeve, and pressed as a limited edition of 999 copies on 180 gram pink vinyl."

A totally immersive listening experience and a true testament to the power and range of the human voice in all its harmonic splendor, as poignantly stated by Terry Riley in the liner notes: "As is the case with La Monte Young's Theater of Eternal Music, David Hyke's Harmonic Choir and Pauline Oliveros's Deep Listening Band, Roberto Laneri has had a lifelong penchant for the droning mysteriosa of the Sound Current and with the Prima Materia ensemble he has expressed it in a disciplined, expansive and singular way."

In 1977 an obscure Italian private label issued a record that sounded like no other before. A long and dense trance-inducing drone of sustained notes, rich with overtones and harmonic embellishments, coming from a space so vast and unexplored that seemed of non-human, almost "ethereal" nature. Paradoxically, each and any molecule of that sound was produced using only the most original and archaic of instruments, the human voice. The musicians of the group Prima Materia – a project founded by Roberto Laneri in San Diego in 1973, including Claudio Ricciardi, Gianni Nebbiosi, Susanne Hendricks and Maria Monti – individually researched and developed unusual vocal techniques (originally used in Tantric rituals in North India, Mongolia and Tibet), based upon the use of overtones coupled with a special state of inner concentration, which was the essential condition for both the emission and control of long-sustained and complex vocal sounds. Their capacity to sustain a note for what seems an eternity, and then continue to provide endless variations generates a continuous and sustained drone of sound, in which the overtones are clearly perceived. The name of the record was The Tail of the Tiger, and it was issued by the Rome-based Ananda label, ran by Roberto Laneri with Alvin Curran and Giacinto Scelsi.

The record soon disappeared, acquiring an almost legendary status among collectors and experimental music lovers. Die Schachtel recovered the original tapes and in 2007 released a limited CD edition of The Tail of the Tiger that again went OOP in a few months. Ten years after that memorable edition we have decided to remaster the tracks, and add a stunning take from the 1974 Köln live concert, a dimension that was ideal for the Group improvisational technique and conceptual approach to sound. The result is a stunning deluxe double LP boxed edition, complete with a 4-page explanatory booklet, a 16-pages "Mandala" booklet designed by Dinamomilano and inspired by the group's references and philosophy, custom inner sleeves with original photos printed in silver on deluxe coated paper, and of course two hi-quality vinyl records pressed in Germany.

Optimo's prolific DJ / producer / label boss JD Twitch aka Keith McIvor has curated a compilation of early '80s synth, industrial and cold wave classics and undiscovered gems in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory, following the (Cease and Desist) DIY! (Cult Classics from the Post-Punk Era 1978-82) compilation on his own Optimo Music label, and Youth Stand Up!, a collaborative recording project featuring young musicians from Glasgow, Ghana and Belize on his Autonomous Africa imprint. Titled 'So Low' with hand screen-printed artwork by Katie Shannon, the 16-track collection had its genesis in McIvor's irregular club night of the same name in his hometown of Glasgow. 'So Low' focuses on the perhaps lesser known protagonists of the scene, such as UK / European minimalists P1/E, Colin Potter and Gerry and The Holograms, and American industrial / experimentalists including Michigan's Hunting Lodge and avant-garde San Francisco collective Tuxedomoon, as well as a number of French and Belgian acts such as Siglo XX, Front 242, Marc Verhaeghen's The Klinik and Clair Obscur. Tracks from industrial forbearers Throbbing Gristle and band members Chris Carter and Cosey Fanny Tutti, who went on to record as Chris and Cosey, and Germany's pioneering minimal wave musician John Bender are also included.

Second album by this Argentinian duo based in Berlin, made up by Carmen Burguess and Tomás Nochteff.
They are continuing their post punk, industrial inflected synth explorations first introduced on their 2011 self –titled debut album released on Old Europa Cafe / Blind Prophet.
Having created Mueran Humanos in 2006, Carmen and Tomàs embody the classic counterculture tradition of an "us against the world" couple driven to greatness through their love of each other and their passion for art.
Aptly described by Sean Ragon (Cult of Youth, Blind Prophet Records) as "a post–industrial Lux and Ivy, a garage rock Chris and Cosey, or even a psychedelic Johnny Cash and June Carter."
Burguess and Nochteff share the vocal duties, all sung in their native Spanish, but with an emotiveness that transcends any language barriers, with the artwork made by Burguess carrying a voice just as distinct as their music, and the eerie, sometimes disturbing, imagery functioning as its perfect accompaniment.
Choosing to forego computer based writing, the band opt instead for stretching and perverting an instrument's presupposed purpose.
This way, the very basic line up of Mueran Humanos; bass, synths, drum machines and sampler, generates their personal sound.
On Miseress, Mueran Humanos adds for the first time guitars to the formula, supplied by Einstürzende Neubauten's Jochen Arbeit, who also acts as the only guest musician on the album.
Recorded at Burguess' and Nochteff's home in Berlin, and mixed in Einsturzende Neubauten's studio andereBaustelle by engineer Boris Wilsdorf, ‘Miseress' bounds between the foreboding and the abstract to more frenetic sounding pop to harsh, obsessive marches.
Each song is treated as a separate entity, allowing the record to come together as a whole organically.
Mueran Humanos encourage listeners to experience ‘Miseress' as you might a thunderstorm: natural and inevitable, it moves seamlessly from beautiful to scary, sad to ecstatic, sliced with points of rage but also flecked with calming lulls.

Formed in the early 80s by ex-Men Without Hats guitarist Tracy Howe and Bill Vorn, Rational Youth was later joined by Kevin Komoda and went on to record arguably the greatest synthpop album Canada has ever seen with Cold War Night Life. A national tour and 20,000 copies later, the band broke up, a new band was formed, a new album was released, only to have the band break up again in 1986. Since then, Rational Youth has been revived several times with different line-ups, each time adding something wonderful to the mix, but always rooted in Howe's knack for melody and his remarkable vocal style.

Returning in 2016 as a duo (Howe and wife Gaenor), Rational Youth is set to release its first original material since 1999 as a beautiful 10" vinyl thru Toronto's Artoffact Records. The 10" features five new tracks that harken back to the pioneering minimal synth style that made Rational Youth famous. The first track to leak, This Side of the Border, could have been a single off Cold War Night Life with its upbeat and clipping synths, dour lyrics, and hooky chorus. Other tracks, including the amazing Western Man, remind us that, at its core, Rational Youth was always about politics, something that should not surprise those who danced on the Berlin Wall. A cover of Psyche's classic Unveiling the Secret closes out the release, but only leaves us wanting more.

The 10" vinyl will be available in June. A collector's edition of 200 copies on clear vinyl will also be released.

Il videoclip di "Frenetika" è stato realizzato e diretto da Gaetano Bognanni e Rossana Rizza per Pitch Black Sublime e come lo stesso Carlo Disimone ammette: "Il risultato finale è assolutamente professionale, sfaccettato e criptico proprio come siamo noi e come vuole essere la musica dei DPERD. Noi speriamo davvero che il video piaccia e con esso vogliamo che arrivi tutta la nostra gratitudine a chi ci ha supportato e seguito durante tutti questi anni".

ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO Pulsion CD

Nine tracks recorded between november 2008 and May 2009. Some have been already played in their last performances in Leipzig, Madrid and Barcelona with great success. Pulsión is in fact the album that follows Compuesto de Hierro (2003) as 8 Traks and Live (2007) can be considered as a transition, being a record made to go with the DVD, and contained some tracks that were in fact versions of older ones. Esplendor Geométrico style continues having a unique and unmistakable mark that distinguishes them from later bands they have had influence onto. At first sight, Pulsión is pure Industrial hypnosis based on the electronic manipulation of sounds together with irresistible rhythms, repetitive, machine-like, industrial, hypnotic, sometimes tribal, sometimes danceable, that mix up with voices and chants. Some of them are taken fom traditional arab and oriental musics (Mongolia, China,Tibet…) to be later electronically manipulated, others are simply speech fragments, as the one of a leader of a radical political party in Japan, Che Guevara, or an anti-occidental harangue from an islamist leader. But the idea of EG is not to transmit any political or ideological message, the spurces have been chosen for their strength and sonority. The first edition in CD is in digipack + booklet. There will be also a limited vinyl edition (500 copies) on mid September containing four tracks of the CD and two exclusive tracks for that format. Recorded in Beijing and Roma (2008-2009) by Arturo Lanz and Saverio Evangelista. All tracks composed by Arturo Lanz.

SELOFAN 'Tristesse' LP

The second full-lenght of Selofan is worth wondering how so many music elements and different styles can be perfectly combined into a homogenous soundtrack, a trip back in time and yet so modern and individual. 12 new tracks of diverse music structures and moods, which reflect the maturation of this gifted duo. Side A is of a deep romantic sensibility. Unlike their previous “Verboten” LP, though still following the synthesizer and drum machine strategies, Selofan use more instruments, the bass and saxophone playing the leading role, all put together at their home studio. This record needs “instructions for use” and you will find them on the B side. Things are not as they seem, each track reveals a completely new cosmos, a piece of classical piano music, a rhythmic tango, old school dark wave and synthpunk tracks coexist in harmony. The expressive story-telling enters the mind with caustic lyrics of existential anguish as well as the poetry of Rilke and Hesse. SKANFROM 'Postcards' LP

'Suction Records is pleased to present "Postcards", a new full-length by Skanfrom — his first album since 2002. Skanfrom is Roger Semsroth from Berlin, best known for his purist minimal techno project Sleeparchive.

Before Sleeparchive there was Skanfrom, who first appeared in the late-90s, releasing limited edition 7"s on his own A.D.S.R. label. This was part of a small movement of DIY labels influenced by the melodic, experimental electronica output of labels like Rephlex, Skam and Warp. Skanfrom's music displayed a particular affinity for the lush, melodic electro of Bochum Welt, who was an early signing to Aphex Twin's Rephlex label. You could practically call Bochum Welt the blueprint for Skanfrom's sound. But there was something a little different about Skanfrom.

Unlike Bochum Welt, who claimed influence from big shiny '80s producers like Trevor Horn and Thomas Dolby, Skanfrom was listening to a lot of raw synthwave music. The influence of earlyDepeche Mode (Speak and Spell), Kraftwerk (Radioactivity) and more obscure bands like Vice Versa and Ceramic Hello, clearly set Skanfrom apart from his IDM contemporaries.

Skanfrom found a like-minded home in Suction Records, who were releasing records by Solventand Lowfish with many of the same musical references. In 2002, Skanfrom released his debut album on Suction Records, "Hand Picked Fragments". A lot has changed since 2002 but inSkanfrom world, 2014 is very much the same. "Postcards" is full of the same pure and melodic electro(pop), which is what made Skanfrom so special to us from the start. As it was in the beginning, Skanfrom produced "Postcards" using little more than his beloved Roland SH-101. This classic vintage monosynth, with it's minimal layout and pure analogue tone, remains the ideal instrument for Skanfrom's enduring, synthetic sound.' - Label description

only a few days to go and we will be presenting our new album "The AERDT - Untold Stories" live at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen.

We all hope that we will meet many of you there - enjoying us performing the new songs and our classics, go dancing at great parties and see many other great bands, attractions and people.

- Our club singles are still in the German Alternative Charts - this week even rising to position Nr.3 giving us 6 weeks in the top 10. We just hope that many of you were able to listen to the songs at a dangerous volume and got your bodies and souls moving.

- The press reviewed our album very positively indeed. We have to thank all the journalists, radio and Club DJs and of course our fans for their open mind about our new sound with a strong link to our legacy.
