per il complesso della sua opera, che il pubblico del nostro festival conosce bene, e che anche quest’anno è presente nel programma con ben due film: FINAL CUT – LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, il lungometraggio che chiude il Festival, e THERE IS NO FILM, il cortometraggio inserito nel film collettivo MAGYARORSZÁG 2011 prodotto da Béla Tarr. L’opera di Pálfi, uno degli autori ungheresi più originali degli ultimi anni, sa denunciare con intelligente ironia e graffiante amarezza gli aspetti più inquietanti e drammatici della società nell’Ungheria di oggi.
The CEI (Central European Initiative) AWARD 2013 goes to the Hungarian director
GYÖRGY PÁLFI
for the whole of his work, that our audience knows so well. This year we have selected in our Festival programme his two last works, his feature film FINAL CUT – LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, that will close the Festival, and his short film THERE IS NO FILM, one of the segments of the collective film MAGYARORSZÁG 2011 (HUNGARY 2011), produced by Béla Tarr. The work of György Pálfi, one of the most original Hungarian filmmakers of the last few years, can denounce with sharp and biting irony the most dramatic and unsettling aspects of today’s Hungary.
