WHAT: "Falling Down"
WHY: Of the leaked tracks from Duran Duran's upcoming album, Red Carpet Massacre, the Timbaland-produced "Night Runner" doesn't quite gel — it comes off more like an ungainly mash-up than a true collaboration. Much better is the Justin Timberlake-produced and co-written "Falling Down," which doesn't try to revolutionize the signature Duran Duran sound as much it simply augments it with some fresh sonics. Instead putting Timbaland's flashy style to the fore, "Falling Down" is all about the song — the melodies are classically catchy and the structure is flawless. Think "Ordinary World" gussied up for the new millennium. The blown-out studio work — stardust guitars, flighty falsetto, enormous synth-fueled drums — makes the track more-than-ready for radio, but it would likely play as well with a single acoustic guitar. It's easy to be distracted by the big name collaborators trying to help Simon Le Bon and Co. pull off a legitimate hit album, but "Falling Down" excels because, more than anything, it sounds like a Duran Duran song — not a Timbolake song.

non sto a tradurre preciso, perchè ci sono un sacco di parole che devo cercare nel vocabolario...ihih cmq in sintesi dice che
delle canzoni trapelate dal nuovo album quella prodotta da timbaland, NR , non quaglia e più che una collaborazione sembra un pasticcio, molto meglio quella scritta e prodotta insieme a Justin timberlake,che non sconvolge lo stile DD,ha una melodia classica e accattivante , dalla struttura impeccabile, una specie di OW del nuovo millennio, più che adatta alla radio. Facile essere distratti dai grandi nomi che compaiono accanto a Simon Le Bon e soci...Falling down eccelle perchè più delle altre suona come una canzone dei DD e non come una canzone "timbolake"
