Attrition?

In una discussione su tw center (qui: www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=281414&page=18) ho trovato una cosa che non capisco:

Add attrition, which means units also losing some numbers to simple disease, local resistance, desertion and such. So that large armies are actually worth it just if used properly and timed well.

Da come ne parlano sembra però che sia una cosetta facile facile (anche io avevo pensato fosse scriptata)...
