24: Probabile cancellazione - Cancellato

Multiple sources are reporting that anonymous parties in the know at Fox have decided not to renew 24 for a ninth day and that an official announcement could come any day now.  Given the comments from NBC’s Angela Bromstad last week indicating that NBC had already been talking about whether to pick up 24 should Fox pass, it doesn’t come as a big surprise that Fox is tipping its hand.

Increasingly high production costs and diminishing ratings are cited as reasons the show will end its run on Fox.   Fox’s studio will surely try to shop 24 and  a distressed NBC is likely the only network that would give it any serious consideration.   Ultimately, I can’t see NBC wanting to pay a high price for a show long in tooth that already isn’t getting great ratings. But you never know.

If not, there’s always the prospect of movies.

Concordo. Ho letto anch'io il post su tvbythenumbers: 24 è la mia serie preferita, ma 8 stagioni (tutte belle per ora, con pochissimi momenti di stanca) vanno bene. Spero solo che, in caso, sia un finale degno di una grande serie, non sbrigativo. Avevano detto di essere pronti a quest'evenienza e spero che sia veramente così. Cmq ho letto anche il rumour che la NBC si è dimostrata interessata eventualmente a rilevare la serie (ma dato il costo che avrebbe per la NBC e i dati d'ascolto di 24 che cmq non sono più straordinari a me pare un investimento strano) e che sicuramente 24 diverrà un film. Solo il fatto del film mi fa concordare che la cancellazione non sarebbe una tragedia se garantiscono un bel finale. Però Jack e il timer di 24 mi mancheranno tantissimo!

Ne parlano anche qui. Oramai se ne parla da un po', però penso che sarebbe un peccato andare tranquilli sulla cancellazione perchè tanto si sa che semmai c'è il film in tv o al cinema no?

“For us, creatively, it seemed like the right time to do it,” Kiefer Sutherland told Variety. “It’s very bittersweet. 24 was the greatest learning experience of my career so far. And on a personal level, working with this cast and crew and writers, these will be friends of mine for the rest of my life.”

Network and showrunner Howard Gordon added “Kiefer and me and the writers had (a decision to make). What’s the creative? What do we do? Is there any more story left to be told in this 24-hour format? We turned over every stone, and really determined that the story has come to an end in this 24-hour format.”

24 regular Mary Lynn Rajskub confirmed the news, tweeting, “Just found out we got the word officially. This is 24’s last season.”

The final two-hour episode will air May 24.

Me lo aspettavo! Credo che dopo 8 stagioni in effetti non ci si possa lamentare nè che sia una decisione sbagliata, preferisco che finisca ora e alla grande, con una stagione 8 che va in crescendo, che non tra qualche anno, spremendo ancora di più un concetto che si è sviluppato abbondantemente ottenendo magari risultati deludenti. Certo il 24 maggio per me sarà una serata particolare ed emozionante come mi era successo per esempio col finale di X-Files: mi dispiace davvero un sacco vedere che termina la mia serie preferita dopo così tanti anni, non vedere più le azioni di Jack se non in un franchise di film (lo spero vivamente), ma spero che sarà nel contempo un finale degno di questo nome che dia soddisfazione! Spero sia vero che, nell'incertezza, era previsto sia un finale fatto apposta per chiudere la serie (e che quindi sia questo quello che vedremo) sia un'altra versione che poteva essere accettabile come finale definitivo ma pensato più per gettare alcuni elementi per la stagione 9.
Cmq sia...senza Jack Bauer e quel timer inquietante per me il mondo delle serie tv non sarà più lo stesso!

Devo metabolizzare la notizia, un'altra serie che finisce, che anno drammatico tra Lost e 24...si chiude un'epoca!

Sarà veramente dura senza 24.........e non posso credere che sia vero
ogni stagione era sempre più bella della precedente.....era il massimo x me
come farò senza Jack Bauer
