I posted this earlier in CHATTER, but it needs a cross-post here:
I must apologize that between the Pope's visit to Montecasino and yesterday's holiday in the United State, and the fact that I hae acquired new domestic obligations that do call on my time after my day job, I have not been able to check the PRF out in two days....
And am most surprised to find references to 'Teresa's blog' - I had to follow the link to see if there was a Teresa who has opened a blog, only to find that it refers to my posts in the BENEDETTO XVI FORUM.
I would like to make two things clear: First, I do not think anyone can accuse me, of all people, as it has been implied in some of the posts above, of
losing any 'euphoria' or 'enthusiasm' about Benedict XVI.
Despite my increasing difficulty in juggling my time, I have continued to put as much effort into 'reporting' about him as I did when this section got started in November 2005.
My loyalty is to BENEDICT XVI first and foremost, not to a site or Forum, and I will continue my little undertaking in his behalf wherever I can have an easy, open and stable outlet.
My decision to transfer my BENEDICT-watching to the BENEDETTO XVI FORUM has practical reasons that have to do with the assurance of having an outlet with prospects of stability, as I had explained to Benefan privately.
Gloria has a track record of keeping her website dedicated to JOHN PAUL I alive and running for more than a decade now, and I trust she will have the same persistence and dedication for BENEDICT XVI.
When I informed Sihaya (who along with Gloria, continues to be the nominal administrator of the PRF post-Ratzigirl) of my intentions last month, she e-mailed me back to say "Go ahead with your plans, and carry on with the Forum as you think best", since she herself has been occupied with her teaching load, having recently accompanied her students to Prague and other places; that she prefers now to follow the Pope 'privately' and has chosen to be more active on Facebook.
Second, of course, is that
I do not have a blog. I am posting on a forum, just as I continue to post in PRF, only not the Benedict items.
As for losing my 'exposure' in moving to a new and much smaller Forum (so far), I believe that people who follow Benedict XVI the way we do will eventually find their way to Gloria's Forum.
So, please, as long as the PRF is up and running, everyone just go ahead and carry on at the PRF as you have always done, and as I do, to the extent that my new off-forum obligations (i.e., my personal life in the real world) allow me to.
And I would hope that my absence from NEWS ABOUT BENEDICT would be most welcome for the rest of you to
do with it what you think it ought to be like, without the 'persistent presence' (always well-meaning, I assure you) of someone who only wants to disseminate Benedict-info in any way I can.
I was not unmindful of the obvious resentment that some members have shown me from time to time because I post 'too many stories' or I make my opinions known on anything I believe is worth commenting 0n (without getting any reactions, one way or the other). You must be glad you won't have to deal with my presence any longer on the BENEDICT thread.
Thank you all for putting up with me, nonetheless.
And this is the site on Gloria's forum where I currently post all the items about BENEDICT XVI that I am able to:
benedettoxviforum.freeforumzone.leonardo.it/categoria.aspx?c=169318&f=169318&...
Also, as Benefan suggests, I am converting this thread to a STICKY to facilitate access to the other Forum.
