Well, I can't choose simply because for me this disctinction doesn't exist! For me John Norum is an explosion of energy in everything he plays: I can feel the vibration of passion in every single note of his "polite" songs, I can touch the feeling, I can feed my soul with his fire! Not a note is fixed and static: each of them remains suspended in the air for a while, for a unique and magic instant, fluctuating in the warm and full of Life atmosphere, just to fade away like a flame slowly putting out... he's a concentrate of power controlled but not extinguished!
And in his "impolite" songs... well, there you can see clearly all that energy and that vigour, you are dragged away by that force! you feel it with all your soul, with every particel of your being! It's pure adrenaline, it's a storm of sensations!!! But the same you feel that inner control: the notes have an archan order, an almost mystic shape beside the flowing; times are precise, notes are right, execution is perfect
These two aspects totally fuse together, and make of Norum one of the greatest guitar-heroes!
