The Fifth Sorrowful Mystery - The Crucifixion

Pater noster, qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,

Et ne nos inducas in tentationem:
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum, benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen

THE FOURTH GLORIOUS MYSTERY: THE ASSUMPTION OF OUR LADY

Icon of the Assumption

We believe that Our Blessed Lady was taken, body and soul, into Heaven to join her Son. She had spent her last years at Ephesus and it was in front of Mary's House that our beloved Papa celebrated the beautiful and deeply prayerful Mass with local Christians, during his visit to Turkey in November 2006.
May Our Lady watch over, guide and protect our Pope Benedict XVI always!

The Fifth Glorious Mystery, the Coronation of Our Lady in Heaven

Mary is crowned by her divine Son as Queen of heaven and earth.

Mary had served Jesus all her life. She had loved and served God with her whole heart and soul. She had never committed the slightest sin. So in heaven she was to have her reward. Body and soul, Mary entered heaven. Her Son, Jesus, met her and took her in His grateful arms. The heavenly Father said, "This is My dear devoted daughter." The Divine Son said, "This is My dear faithful Mother." The Holy Spirit said, "This is my sweet, pure bride." And the saints and angels all cried, "This is our Queen!" So Jesus, the King of Kings, seated her on her throne. On her head He placed a glorious crown of stars. But Mary looked down to see her children on earth. For now she could help her sons and daughters to reach heaven. Mary is the Queen of Heaven. But she is our loving Mother who protects us with her power.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.

Hail, Holy Queen, mother of mercy, hail our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then most gracious advocate, thine eyes towards us and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Oh clement, Oh loving Oh sweet Virgin Mary. Amen/

Eternal Father, whose only begotten son our Lord Jesus Christ, by his life, death and resurrection has bought for us the reward of Eternal Life, grant we beseech Thee that meditating on these mysteries of the most holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary that we may both imitate what the contain and obtain what they promise. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Beautiful rosary!
This has been a beautiful rosary! Wulfrune, thank you for the glorious pictures accompanying the Fifth Glorious Mystery.

I don't want to hog this thread, so, please would someone like to suggest an intention for the next rosary and get it started?

Luff, Mary x

I posted this in PICTURES AND VIDEOS, but it should be on this thread, too.

Caterina gives us a new Papal collage with the Rosary as theme:

She quotes from Benedict XVI's 10/16/05 Angelus message:

"In fact, the Rosary does not conflict with meditating on the Word of God or liturgical prayer.
It represents, instead, a natural and ideal complement to these, particularly as a preparation
and in gratitude for the Eucharistic celebration.

"With Mary, we contemplate the Christ whom we meet in the Gospels and the Sacraments
at various moments in her life, through the joyful, luminous, sorrowful and glorious mysteries.

"In the school of the Mother of God, we learn to conform to her divine Son and to announce Him
through our own lives. If the Eucharist is the center of the day for the Christian, the Rosary
contributes in a special way to expand our communion with Christ, and educates us to live
with the eyes of the heart fixed on Him, so we can radiate to all and for all His merciful love."

I'd like to dedicate this Rosary for the continuation of Pope Benedict XVI's good health. [SM=g27821]

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of Heaven and Earth
And in Jesus Christ
His only Son, Our Lord
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit
Born of the Virgin Mary
Suffered under Pontius Pilate
Was crucified, died and was buried.
On the third day, he rose again
He ascended into Heaven
and is seated at the right hand
of God, the Father Almighty.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the Communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

The Second Joyful Mystery: The Visitation

"Mary set out at that time and went as quickly as she could to a town in the hill country of Judah. She went into Zechariah's house and greeted Elizabeth" Luke 1: 39 - 40

The Visitation

at the sound of the Virgin’s voice, Elizabeth, is rapt in prophecy, and cries out: “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb,” and, “how have I deserved this happiness that the Mother of my Lord should come to me?”

The ordinary effects of the presence of Jesus and Mary are now, as when they lived in the world; grace comes out from the One and flows to us through the other. Where Jesus and Mary are, there is holiness. The mind is enlightened with divine truth, the heart is warmed with celestial love, the whole person is sanctified, and strength is given to accomplish victory over our passions and the power of our spiritual foes.

Let us learn from Mary’s Magnficat to attribute all good things to Him to whom alone it belongs; to preserve humility in the midst of the advantages God may have showered on us; to return unceasing thanks to Him for His many favours; that we may be found worthy of the frequent visits of Jesus and Mary to our hearts in this life, and of the invitation to come and live with them for all eternity in the next. [adapted from a meditation by Fr Emanuel Herkel FFSX]

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed by Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Ave Maria, gratia plena,
