Oh Lutheranguest, you're killing me
What a great pic of Papa as a Cardinal with dark glasses
I don't have any idea how to concentrate on my papers now ----------------------------------------
Joseph Kardinal Ratzinger - Papst Benedikt XVI

Check out the French section Even if you don't read French, please check out the photo and video threads by our French neighbors here regularly, if not daily. Sylvie and Beatrice always have something new.
This weekend, for instance, Beatrice started posting her flash-animation montages of Papa's photos (which you can download!) - the most notable being that absolutely unforgettable series of some 50 pictures, I think, which Sylvie had earlier picked up from an early 90s Swiss TV interview with Ratzi, and he was just so....UMMMM it's a veritable visual banquet! |

Check out your "Milestones" This was posted in the main forum from the German edition (I don't know which printing) of Ratzi's autobiography:
It appears that the photo selections used in the different language versions (and in different printings of such versions) are not always identical.
For those who are seeing the pictures for the first time, the one on the left shows the brothers Ratzinger in 1995 at the ruins of the ancient Greek temples in Paestum, southern Italy; while the two photos on the right were taken during a 1978 mountain vacation in the Bavarian Alps around Berchtesgaden. |

Ratzigirl yesterday provided the following link to a 1min/52sec
video of a TV news report from Spain on April 19. (It takes a little time to load, but it's well worth the wait).
www.yatv.com/videos/4/4227136d131f1f4v3ADSL.smil
The clip starts with Benedict at the Loggia (after he has given the Urbi et Orbi blessing), then goes on to review the times Ratzi has visited Spain: 1) July 1993, at the summer courses in Theology held in El Escorial by the Universidad Complutense of Madrid; 2) February 1998, when he was given an honorary doctorate by the University of Navarra in Pamplona; 3) June 2000, in Granada, when the CDF returned some historic books
containing religious texts prepared by the Spanish Jews in the 15th century to avoid expulsion from the Spain of the "Catholic Monarchs",Ferdinand and Isabella; 4) December 2002, in Murcia to inaugurate a theology course for seminarians; and 5) December 2002, once more in Murcia, at the Catholic University for the conclusion of an international conference on Christology.
(Sylvie, one of the 2 resident photo-wizards in the French section, has prepared two montages from the pictures in the video-clip. I have re-posted her montage of April 19 in the "Experience of April 19" thread, and the montage of the Spain trips can be found in "Photos" in the French section here.)
Spanish Catholics are hoping, of course, that Papa will visit Spain again for World Family Day in Valencia next July.

I've been messing about again!! Here's a logo I made for you, using one of those STUNC photos posted on the Good Morning thread. Hope you'll enjoy using it.
If any of the Italian members would like me to make something similar with Italian wording, please post the words here.I'd love to work with Italian words, as they are so much more.....um....well, um! than English words!

GREAT DECAL
Mary, you need to go into business! That decal with Papa's terrific photo is wonderful. I would love to blow it up a bit and put it on the back window of my VW bug. Unfortunately, I think most of my family are concerned that I have completely lost my mind and that would probably be the final straw. Oh, so what! I'm going to do it. Can you make some of one of Papa's beautiful profiles in his white cassock and say, I Love Pope Benedict! ??? I'll put one of each on opposite sides of the back window. I'd like to use it in my posts. I could not upload it to the File manager, though. I wonder why? |

I love the logo, MaryJos! You can really go to town and "custom-make" logos depending on the photo and "shout-out" one chooses!
Meanwhile, how about this "coccolosissimo Papa" photo from Ratzigirl today?

This is one of the best international sites devoted to PapaRatzi which offers the whole range of multi-media offerings about Papa and is always updated. This is the place to go if you missed watching the Angelus or the weekly audience.
Sylvie recommends viewing the 11/27 archive edition of Octava Dies (click on the November 27 date down on the lower lefthand corner of the homepage in the box for CTV... |
