'KISSINGEST' PAPA!
I agree with Jil about those lucky children. I am waiting for the day when one of the mothers holding her child out for Papa to kiss, pulls the kid out of the way just as Papa tries to kiss it, and Mama gets the kiss instead. Some mothers would stoop to anything. Absolutely shameful!
.......uuuhh....I'd probably drop the baby, just when Papa is about to move closer!
The question ist just, what would he prefer, kiss the baby or one of us??

Jil, it's best not to ask that kind of question. Just believe it would be us.

THE WONDERMAN AT VATICAN RADIO Sylvie's montage of Papa's visit to Vatican Radio - the astonishing WONDERMAN is in extraordinarily terrific form these days.
Liebster Papst,du bist wirklich ein WUNDER!
If you have been printing out Sylvie's photomontages, you will appreciate what a wonderful papal photo-diary they constitute!

This is a beautiful picture of the Pope receiving the ashes on Wednesday from Cardinal Tomko,
but who can blame Ratzigirl for captioning it "Every Ratzingerina's dream"? |

WE SHOULD ALL BE SO LUCKY! Avvenire, the newspaper of the Italian bishops conference,
used this picture today, taken from the Pope's meeting
with an association of Christian employers and their families,
to illustrate the home page of their Benedetto XVI
daily online bulletin.

WHAT A LUCKY LITTLE BOY!!!!
That's what you call throwing oneself at Papa. The kid really has his arms wrapped around Papa's neck. However, it looks like Papa is enjoying this. He seems to be laughing and kissing the boy at the same time. It is really nice to see Papa getting this kind of loving response. It's just too bad it's not from us.
Nan, Maryjos, Jil, Simone: Take note of this. Again, the use of a child worked. I think we are going to have to return to Plan A--bring a baby, preferably a trained one that could hang on to Papa and make it necessary for "Mama" to reach over ever so carefully, gently, and helpfully to "assist" in freeing Papa from the child, while latching on to Papa herself. |

My nice is 3 1/2 years old and really cute. If I promise her Spaghetti al Pomodoro she'd do anything to attract Papa's attention.
Well, I just have to convince her dad, my brother to let her come with me to Rome. Wishful thinking...... |

WHAT A LUCKY LITTLE BOY!!!! That's really such a sweet and lovely pic !
Everybody is happy and everybody is laughing, even that grim bodyguard !
It's right, the straight way to Papa's heart is to use a baby
(I must laugh, in real life it's exactly the other way round, first you conquer someone's heart and then comes the baby (maybe).
In Papa's case first comes the baby and then you conquer his heart)

POPE'S AUDIENCE FOR CHRISTIAN EMPLOYERS Sylvie not only has her usual efficient montage, but she also captured the episode of the "lucky kid" on video which Beatrice beautifully translated into a flash animation, and if I cannot post the links here, just go to PHOTOS in FANS DE LA FRANCE.

and AP, L'Osservatore Romano
Translation of Sylvie's note:
Where was CTV? Happily, Telepace had a clip from this audience with the episode of the little boy...One kiss wasn't enough for him (we understand that!) and he latched on to his idol...This photo will become famous, at least in his family...Yesterday, another young lady "cracked" - she put her arm under the Pope's and leaned her head on his shoulder...A bit of tenderness in this world of bad news [my sense of her use of the word 'brutes']

I just want to take the opportunity to say "Thank you", "Merci" and "Gra(t)zie" to all users of this italian/english/french forum (especially to Ratzigirl). A forum is only as good as the people that come to contribute. It's nice that we come from so many different countries and find a way to communicate especially as it does not seem to be possible in my language. So I really appreciate to come here.
And now I must look at the French forum to find that video. |

Danke schoen, Jil! It's miraculoso that we feel such solidarity here and such total liebe und freude for our beloved Papa!
I must see the video where another lady "cracks" under the strain! Ooh heck! I'll need a tranquilliser dart before my next audience I think!
Thank you, Sylvie, for the beautiful montage - Papa looked so happy and relaxed at that gathering, didn't he! And, if I'd been the little boy I'd have locked my arms round Papa and never let him go.......oh the love! It really is super to behold!
Nan - hope you get some replies to your ad. for a suitable baby!
Choy to you all! Mary x |

HUGGING PAPA
Maryjos, it sounds like Jil's niece is the perfect kid for the job--3 1/2 years old, cute, trainable, already in Europe. Nan would be the first to need her and I suspect Nan could do a great job of training her using the video of the little boy hugging Papa as an example of how to lure Papa over and hold on to him till Nan could move in and grab him too. I am surprised that Papa didn't get whiplash from the way that child held on to his neck. Papa must be stronger than he looks to have stayed on his feet with the boy pulling at him with his weight at such an angle.
Does anybody have a tape of the woman who snuggled up to Papa? I'd like to evaluate her technique. [Modificato da benefan 06/03/2006 2.45] |
