Paparatzifan has just posted in "Foto da Papa" on the main forum a flurry of excellent large-format photos from the Saturday vespers, and I am borrowing this one because it captures the Holy Father as we like to see him best, an image that belongs on a prayer card:

NOT FAIR!
It's just not fair to post photos like that, Teresa, especially right at the start of the work day here. Now I'm not going to be able to concentrate on anything work-related for hours. That animal on Papa's clasp is definitely a lamb so that makes two lambs in the photo. Very sweet. |

And there's more of it, of course... Suddenly, the lamb has become my favorite "animal" (I wish the word animal did not also have all the negative connotations it has accrued or that there was another word for it - non-human creature, perhaps?)
More large-format photos from Vespers in the "Profilo Miracoloso" section of "Foto, Immagini..." And Angelus photos in Foto da Papa.
Plus Benodette (fortunate being, indeed!) posted 2 great pictures on the RFC which she shot herself at St. Peter's on Saturday! |

HOW DOES SHE DO IT?
Is there some way we can get Benodette to reveal her secrets as to how she gets in to these ceremonies and how she gets those great photos?
I read Rocco Palma's blog this morning and he mentioned that at the vespers ceremony, people were standing on chairs and on each others' shoulders to take photos of Papa. He says this shows that the Italians love him. And, one source says 40,000 people were at Sunday's angelus despite bad weather. So, again, how does Benodette get what looks like aisle seating? |

SIMONE55 - I AM SPEECHLESS! SUPER!!!! WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE FRAMES FROM - I ASSUME YOU TOOK IT OFF A VIDEO - WAS IT THE SEQUENCE FROM "DER DEUTSCHE PAPST" THAT SOME OF THE GIRLS AT RFC HAVE REFERRED TO?.
By the way, I'm very happy to see you and Dinabella here..Your English, both of you, is just fine. But if you need to say something that you can better express in German, go ahead and do it, and I will trasnlate it if it's something everyone should share. Meanwhile, I wll find out from Ratzigirl if she can open a German section too.

Playing piano........and my latest effort at kidnap! Those screen captures of Papa playing piano - lovely! I'd really like that DVD, though. I assume the piano was in the Vatican somewhere, not in his apartment - look outside the windows. It seems like a courtyard in the Vatican.......of course, benefan, I have inside knowledge, now that I've emerged from my Lilliputian adventure in the flower bed. It isn't easy to see where you are when you're soooooooooo tiny, but I managed to squeeze, mouse-like, into the Apostolic Palace. Then, regaining my real height, using the "reversal potion", I tried the cloak trick. Oh bother! Pooh Bear and I weren't quick enough and lil Georg got there first. I don't give up, though!
hee hee hee! What fun we're having over here with our soul sisters on the Italian forum! Thanks a million to them!
Love, Mary x
In case anyone here or any Italian sisters didn't see what happened to me in an earlier adventure! [Modificato da maryjos 03/12/2005 16.40] |

Maryjos, I know you won't give up!!! I'm eagerly anticipating your next "attempt". That photo you posted about your splashdown in the garden is great. The first time I saw that photo, however, without your comments written in, I thought it should be captioned, "Why did I ever say yes??" Poor Papa just looks like he is gritting his teeth and trying to be patient while the two clerics on either side pester him simultaneously. |

THE SINGING CLERICS
Lutheranguest, after reading your remark, I took another look at the photo and it does look like the two clerics are singing. And poor Papa looks like he is trying not to listen. What he must have to deal with, poor thing! |
