Quest'album è interamente dedicato ad una delle principali battaglie del libro 'Il signore degli Anelli' a cui il gruppo si ispira per i propri testi


Ed ecco qua la recensione sullo stesso album (l'immagine in alto è la copertina del cd)

Un concept sul Silmarillion di Tolkien… Se c’era qualcuno in grado di poter osare tanto e di riuscire in tale impresa in maniera impeccabile questi sono i Blind Guardian. Attraverso parti narrate e intermezzi che rendono l’opera unica e completa i bardi rivivono tutte “tappe” principali di quella che per gli amanti di Tolkien è una bibbia, in maniera squisita e inarrivabile. Il sentimento e la magia che pervade la musica dei bardi è unica e questo album ne è dimostrazione. L’intro War Of Wrath porta a Into The Storm, pezzo veloce e potente che narra dell’avidità di Morgoth e di Ungoliahnt che vuole i Silmaril come ricompensa per aver distrutto gli alberi. Le parole del testo sono molto fedeli al dialogo del libro. Melodie che si intrecciano, rabbia, malinconia, tristezza, epicità… chitarre su chitarre… splendidi cori… Nightfall è un pezzo assolutamente perfetto e immortale che solo le menti di Andrè Olbrich e Hansi Kursch potevano concepire. La canzone è densa di eventi quanto di maestosità e genialità: Yavanna piange la scomparsa degli alberi; Morgoth uccide Finwe; Feanor rifiuta di cedere i Silmaril, giura vendetta verso l'oscuro signore e rinnega la stirpe dei Valar muovendosi verso la Terra di Mezzo: la passione in musica. The Curse Of Feanor, che, come da titolo racconta la maledizione che colpì quello che fu il più straordinario tra gli elfi e la sua stirpe. Il tradimento dei Teleri e il furto delle navi cigno per giungere alla terra di mezzo al fine di vendicare Finwe. Ritmo veloce e calzante che a tratti lascia spazio a parti più lente da cui traspare tutta la rabbia di Feanor. Blood Tears è un pezzo più calmo, tra arpeggi e parti distorte, prende forma la prigionia di Maedhros salvato da Fingon con l’aiuto del signore delle aquile. Mirror Mirror, classico tra i classici della band, si sviluppa attraverso i magnifici lead di chitarra, i cori tipici dei Guardian, la batteria come sempre devstante di Thomen e un chorus che è storia. Una composizione geniale e splendida per celebrare la città nascosta di Gondolin.

Noldor (Dead Winter Reigns) è un pezzo malinconico e tra i più lenti del concept. Qui il pensiero di Manwe e Feanor ci guida attraverso la maledizione dei Noldor. Time Stands Still (At The Iron Hill) è un concentrato di epicità allo stato puro. Basta chiudere gli occhi per vedere Fingolfin cavalcare solitario verso Angbands e sfidare Morgoth l’oscuro signore sotto gli occhi del suo popolo. Tutti Noldor piangeranno la scomparsa e loderanno il gesto eroico del proprio re (praise our king!). Thorn arriva cadenzata ma non troppo veloce, con un coro epico dal quale prende forma l’animo di Maeglin, colui che tradì Gondolin svelandone la posizione a Morgoth. The Eldar è una ballata atipica per i costumi dei Blind Guardian. La voce di Hansi, splendida ed evocativa (è Finrod che riflette dopo essere stato imprigionato per aver liberato Berem), è accompagnata infatti soltanto da un pianoforte. When Sorrow Sang è un pezzo che nonostante la sua natura veloce e potente tratta d’amore, è infatti Berem che rifiuta di raggiungere le aule di Mandos senza la sua amata Luthien. Nirnaeth Arnoediad, Morgoth sconfigge elfi ed uomini, il trionfo dell’oscurità. A Dark Passage è un pezzo molto sinfonico, con sfacettature quasi classiche, con cori epici da pelle d’oca e molto cadenzato.

Questa è la bonus track di 'A night at the Opera', attualmente loro ultimo album.
Dell'album son state pubblicate almeno 4 versioni differenti, tra cui una in spagnolo, una in francese ed una in italiano, con relativa 11esima traccia bonus nella lingua corrispondente.

questo gruppo purtroppo non mi dice molto...
ho provato ad ascoltarne vari album ma nessuno mi colpisce particolarmente.

Stranamente mi piaceva Born in mourning hall. Era quella che faceva "Infact it was close tu a real fallout..."

Bel gruppo, soprattutto se si ama il fantasy e ... i cori!

ecco perchè neanche a me dicono niente... non amo particolarmente il fantasy e i cori proprio non li sopporto...

ahhh stupendi i blind guardian! Sono il mio gruppo epic preferito, MIrror mirror è fantastica!
Però fra le più belle ti sei dimenticato Brigth Eyes!
COmunque i blind gli ho usati per 1 anni per le colonne sonore delle sedute di d&d... Ehhh quanti ricordi che mi tornano in mente sentendo mirror mirror... QUante battaglie!

Hihi! I Blind Guardian andranno anche bene per le sedute di D&D ma prova la colonna sonora di Braveheart...

i blind guardian sono sicuramente uno dei miei gruppi preferiti ancora oggi,mi ricordo quando dopo aver preso episode degli stratovarius presi somewhere far beyond e mi avvicinai al metal.
ora ascolto praticamente tutto (il metal) ma i blind sono fantastici per originalità,testi e tecnica.
apprezzabile l'assenza della tastiera,peccato che il batterista se ne sia andato (ora ha una band sua,i savage circus)...peccato perchè era un ottimo musicista.
dovrebbe uscire il nuovo album fra poco (il batterista è ancora thomen) ma non mi ricordo proprio come si chiamerà.

bhò io spero comunque in un ritorno alle origini perchè l'ultimo (a night at the opera) mi ha un po' deluso,cioè non è bruttissimo ma ci sono troppi cori e alcune canzoni son ripetitive,e poi l'ho pure comprato originale quindi a saperlo compravo qualcos'altro.

No no, il disco un nuovo(la copertina del singolo "Fly" la si trova su Truemetal, è una notizia non troppo vecchia, tipo due o tre giorni) è registrato con il batterista nuovo. Poi mi riesce difficile che l'avessero già composto e registrato.
