The 2001 World Supersport Champion, Andrew Pitt lifted the title for Kawasaki in only his second season racing outside his native Australia - an unprecedented achievement in this ultra-competitive class. Consistency is the key to winning at the highest level and, in one of the closest Supersport seasons ever; it was Andrew's consistency, allied with the reliability of the ZX-6R that brought the world title for Kawasaki.
Andrew was thrown to the wolves by Kawasaki at the end of the 2002 MotoGP championship. The Aussie was handed the ZXRR ride after test rider, Akira Yanagawa was injured. He rode well enough to score the first GP points for Team Green in over a decade. His reward. A full time ride in 2003.
