Smith development is paramount and working under a 4th play caller in 4 years has gotta be tough. I imagine Nolan will strive to keep the offensive system as intact with what Turner ran as possible. That of course is impossible, as simply by Turner leaving and working for another team the verbiage must be altered at a minimum. Plus regardless there is a new mind actually evaluating games and calling plays, as such there will be differences. One more year Alex Smith has to spend time getting familiar with his play caller and one more year Smith is hindered by not being familiar with his play caller.

Zampese has a proven track record with QB's and I would prefer him over Sullivan personally. This late in the game however I think thats exactly whats going to end up happening: Sullivan is the man I think Nolan will replace Turner with. I don't even think Nolan will interview anyone else personally.
