Post-punk violento e rumoroso da Brooklyn. All'attivo due full-length ("The Horror" del 2012 e "Imps Of Perversion" del 2013) ed un Ep ("The Grid" del 2010), tutti pubblicati dalla newyorkese Sacred Bones.
"The band started in 2008 when Chris Bug moved to New York after a two-year post-high-school graduation sojourn in China, convinced by his long-time friend Ivan Lip. Settled in Greenpoint the duo, with Bug at vocals and Lip at guitar, decided to recruit members who didn’t already play an instrument. So John Skultrane and Andrew Smith eventually joined as bass player and drummer. Lip started writing music along with Bug and the resulting sound was initially pegged as downer punk but soon Pop.1280 has been compared to various bands from different musical decades. In effect they seem to mix together sonic deviations from no wave and new wave, punk and industrial, noise and tribal, electronic and post hardcore, borrowing sounds from The Velvet Underground, Suicide, Joy Division, The Birthday Party, Sonic Youth, Liars and many more. The Three Blind Mice
The Three Blind Mice sono nati a Milano nel 2009.
Le principali influenze della band arrivano dal rock’n’roll di Elvis e Link Wray, e dalla scena alternative rock mitteleuropea della metà degli anni ‘80 (Birthday Party/Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Crime & The City Solution, Einsturzende Neubauten) a cui si mescolano atmosfere cinematografiche Crime/Hard Boiled e stranianti sonorità di frontiera tra David Lynch e Calexico.
Rock scuro, blues e punk, la linea stilistica della band si muove tra intensi episodi elettrici e ballate dense e cupe che fanno da scenario a testi visionari venati di una nera ironia.
Prende vita così un universo di storie e personaggi che vivono nell’ombra, ai margini della città: luogo maligno dove i destini si intrecciano al fine di perdersi irrimediabilmente.
