[SM=g27829]

Mail mia:

Hey Jack!

how are you doing? hope all is well over there in Australia!.

Wanted to hear your opinion on something i thought about for long time.

I've been training for pull ups and chin ups with the grease the groove method, and frankly I've been very enthusiast about it.
The concept around it gravitate around the deal of having a higher level of efficiency obitained by increasing the frequency and the intensity and never reaching exaustion, it's much easier to avoid over training and enables the athlete to train at high intensities more often during the week.

Now, I felt my max strenght numbers during pull ups has increased quite a lot since i'm doing it... of course efficiency is related to a specific pattern and i'm sure there are plateus there as there are everywhere else, but still i was wondering if it would be a good tought to integrate the GTG concept to vertical jump training, to both the jumping/tecnique sessions and the max strenght sessions as well.
This of course would consider strenght as a very efficiency-related concept, it's a completely different way of looking into the matter.

What are your toughts about it?

Cheers

Mail sua:

Hi Marco

I have actually moved to Nashville TN, in the USA now for my wifes work. I love it here but I miss my awesome gym back home in Australia

Anyway, in terms of GTG for jumping I love it. I try and do it with box jumps. I am actually going to be talking about this in my new book. It has a few great training ideas and being able to GTG for jumpingis something I highly recommend.

Cheers

Jack

PS - I used GTG for chin ups and push ups a few years ago with astounding results. Not so much in size but in strength endurance. I got up to s aset of 21 chins and I could easily do sets of 100 for push ups after about 12 weeks of doing them every single day.
