carri e cannoni italiani per ASL
Scusati ¡! My Italian is not good enough to express myself.
I think that Italian Orbat in ASL is not complete. Maybe it was enough when Hollow Legions appeared but after the Axis, Allied minors and Chinese with their obscure vehicles and weapons, it is not.
I will include the autocannoni mentioned and also:
-Fiat 3000 (L5): with the twin machineguns and also with the 37mm gun. They fought in Sicilia.
--L3 with 20mm Solothurn mounted in a pedestal, and with the MG’s. It was used in operations during 1941 in Africa Settentrionale.
--Carri semovente comando M40 : With the twin bow machineguns and an AA mg optional: It was used by each Semovete group in Africa 2 of the for each 4 semovente 75/18. Looking for targets and controlling the battery so they should be present in nearly every engagement.
--Carri Semovente Commando M41: The same but with better engine and the bow machineguns replaced by a Breda 13’2mm Heavy Machinegun.
--Carri Semovente comando L40: The Command vehicle for the L6/40 units. With the gun replaced by a breda machine gun. Also an optional AA machine gun.
--AS 42 with the 47/32 AT gun: It was there as the others.
--Carri Somua: Used in Sardegna, in this case maybe not needed.
--Autocannoni da 75/27 TL37, Used in AS by RECAM and later GGFF “division”.
--Autocannoni da 100/17 , Used in Africa Settentrionale by RECAM during Crusader and later GGFF “division”
I would also include:
--Marmon Herrington AC in Italian and German colours. Used when captured in good condition
--2pdr portee: in Italian and German colours: Used when captured in good condition.
--Some 15cwt, 30 cwt’s, quad, etc in Italian and German colours: Used when captured.
--47/32: I would add the option of EP round from Aug 42 or perhaps earlier and EPS from 43 onwards
--Cannone da 25/72: It was the French Hotchkiss 25mm mle 34, it was used by some units in 1941 in AS
--Cannone da 75/43: It was the German Pak 40. Italians used them in Sicilia ( 2 Antitank groups) and Italia in 43.
--Cannone da 77/28: The Bohler 8cm vz 1905. Although chapter H makes it the same than the 75/27, it was not: less range… and also, it was used by GAF artillery units in such numbers that it deserves its own counter.
--Cannone da 88/27: The British 25 pdr, used by Italians and Germans in some numbers when captured during 42. I will make counters in Italian and German colours.
--Cannone da 149/28: The German 15cm sFH18: Used by the Italians in AS (2 gruppo) and Russia (1 Gruppo) One important piece in Italian corps artillery
--Cannone da 152/37: The Skoda 15cm Vz 15/16: Un Gruppo in AS from Tobruk siege in 41 until Alamein. It was another important piece in the Italian corps artillery.
--Obice da 210/22: One group in Russia. Maybe piece not necessary
--Cannone da 75/50: The Skoda 7,5 Kannon Pl vz 37. Was the heavy AA piece of the Trieste division in AS and also equipped other independent units. It was used in Tunis. Good punch and an smaller target than the 88’s
--Cannone da 88/55: The German 88. Some independent AA units but also in the AA gruppi of Ariete and Littorio armoured divisions. They were very active during Gazala and Alamein battles. Without armoured shield for the crew.
--45 MTR Brixia: range= 1-13 (it was capable of “direct” fire) and option of Smoke rounds
--Schwarlose MG: It was used by many second line Italian units in AS.
--Most of the times if not always I would give Italian carristi and crews a morale of 8. They deserve as they were the equals of their adversaries.
--It would be necessary to give Assault fire to some Italian squads from San Marco, Folgore or the PAI. Maybe a 447’s or 537’s to represent their allotment of Beretta SMG’s.
--And 348 or 448 would be useful to represent elite units like Guastattori (combat assault engineers”) and some Alpini.
Well it would be interesting to know your thoughts. And, sorry again for not being able to write in Italian although I can understand it quite well.
