BOBBY LASHLEY VS. WES SIMS CONFIRMED FOR "STRIKEFORCE: MIAMI"
It wasn't easy, but Strikeforce today confirmed that is has finally found an opponent for former WWE star and collegiate Wrestling Champion Bobby Lashley (4-0):
Three-fight UFC veteran and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 alum, Wes Sims.
The announcement comes with little more than one week until "Strikeforce: Miami" is set to go down from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida on Saturday, Jan. 30.
Yohan Banks was originally expected to take on Lashley; however, the Florida Boxing Commission rejected him as a worthy opponent. Mixed Martial Arts journeyman, Jimmy Ambriz, was later approved by the commission, but Strikeforce apparently wanted to go in a different direction.
Enter "A Whole Show."
Sims is the prototypical journeyman fighter, having competed under the IFL, K-1 and UFC banners, among others. This, however, will mark his Strikeforce debut. Besides his bizarre episodes with former UFC Heavyweight Champ Frank Mir, Sims is probably best known for his recent appearance on TUF 10. On the show, Sims surprisingly lost his first fight to the comparatively inexperienced Justin Wren. Sims had won his last three fights before appearing on the Mixed Martial Arts reality series.
Lashley, who also moonlights as a "face" for TNA Wrestling, entered the world of cage fighting back in Dec. 2008 as a co-headliner for South Florida's Mixed Fighting Alliance (MFA). The 6'3" powerhouse needed just 41-seconds to extirpate Joshua Franklin via doctor's stoppage.
Of course comparisons to fellow ex-WWE and amateur wrestler Brock Lesnar quickly followed, as the pasty-faced Goliath needed just four fights to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship from Randy Couture just a month prior to Lashley's MMA debut. Those comparisons were quickly eradicated courtesy of Jason Guida at "March Badness" earlier this year. Most expected the American Top Team-trained fighter in just his second professional fight to steamroll the floundering journeyman. It didn’t happen.
Despite taking the unanimous decision victory, "The Dominator" looked a bit green against the Ultimate Fighter washout and nearly succumbed to a guillotine choke in the third round of their pay-per-view contest. His inexperience was clearly evident. What was also evident was his desire to fight - and improve. The Junction City, Kansas native took a fight against Mike Cook just two months later, submitting the Strikeforce veteran just 24-seconds into the first round at "MFC 21: Hard Knocks". His most recent fight came against K-1 attraction Bob Sapp in the main event of "Ultimate Chaos" back on June 27. "The Beast" was put down in the first round via technical knockout and along with the quick win over Mike Cook, helped return some of the optimism to Lashley's future as a viable Heavyweight contender.
Standing in his way is the colorful 37-fight veteran.
"Strikeforce: Miami" features a main event between Nick Diaz and DREAM Welterweight Champion Marius Zaromskis for the promotion's vacant 170-pound world title. Female powerhouse Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos will put her 145-pound title on the line against Marloes Coenen in the co-featured fight of the night. In addition, feared K-1 striker "Marvelous" Melvin Manhoef will make his Strikeforce debut opposite the power-punching "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler. And joining them is the Welterweight showdown between Jay "The Thoroughbred" Hieron and Joe "Diesel" Riggs.
Not too shabby.

Regarding those who Hogan and Bischoff see a lot in, they are Desmond Wolfe, Matt Morgan, Hernandez and of course, AJ Styles

La morte di Suicide, secondo me sarebbe una delle cose più belle.
Mentre di Homicide sinceramente me ne frega poco, già voleva andarsene, ora non ha storyline(Jeff non andrà di certo contro di lui), e quella scena dell'Asylum....beh... |

Young, credo che tu sia una delle poche persona al mondo a trovarlo inadatto, sugli altri due brits, uno è un non-lottatore e l'altro sul ring è veramente molto acerbo, quindi non sarebbero questa gran perdita.

Cmq tolto appunto lui, gli altri sono tutti ai margini, e sinceramente non mi stupirei di nessuno, neanche di Daniels, visto che già non lo premiavano in questi ultimi mesi, figuriamoci adesso...
Ma, in generale tutta la notizia mi sembra esagerata, tendenziosa e figlia del momento:
- Daniels è un originals, non lo pusheranno ma alla fine chi l'ha fatto negli ultimi anni? Sempre li è e li sta nel suo limbo;
- La brits serve per il mercato extra-USA forte, quindi difficilmente (a meno che non crei qualcosa di sensato attorno a Wolfe e lo adatti a quello) li abbandoneranno;
- Young è uno dei giovani migliori e più dotati del panorama americano: fa ottimamente sia l'heel che il face ed ha ancora dei margini di miglioramento spaventosi.
Per il resto, non credo che tu pensassi che avrebbero puntato su Deaner o che non pensassero che Suicide è una gimmick limitate per Frank (che anche senza non era un main eventer). |

Beh..Mi dispiace molto per Daniels, essendo un suo fan, ma come dite anche voi..Daniels non l'ha pushato mai nessuno, quindi non si tratterebbe di novita', piuttosto preferirei rivederlo come Fallen Angel, perche' continuare ad assistere ad un Daniels senza una minima Gimmick e' alquanto fastidioso, dato che ora mi sembra un bambino capriccioso che sta in TNA da secoli con altri bambinetti (metafora ovviamente xD), con la differenza che pero' i bambinetti son cresciuti e diventati adulti, mentre lui e' rimasto un Bambino che non ha piu amici con cui giocare (Dio..che paragone squallido), insomma..se Daniels non lo volete pushare almeno ridateci il Fallen Angel! |

Ah cmq per quanto riguarda Moore e Jeff.
Ad una domanda, Moore sul suo twitter ha risposto che è andato benissimo l'incontro con Hogan, per entrambi, e che solo il tempo svelerà il tutto...
Personalmente cmq non credo che sia per la questione legale di Jeff(visto che per loro sarebbe meglio sfruttarlo proprio ora, se hanno paura di qualche conseguenza), probabilmente c'è qualcos'altro sotto.
Vediamo poi di che Storyline si tratterà. |

Daniels non è stato mai pushato a dovere per il semplice motivo che, pur essendo fortissimo tecnicamente, è davvero anonimo come personaggio.
Ed è quindi impossibile affibiargliene uno, di personaggio. |
