A self-described "full-time Heathen, journalist, DJ and promoter," Erin Powell is the Texas-based recording artist behind the project AWEN.

DAVID E. WILLIAMS has released numerous recordings of his demented chamber pop for close to 3 decades, but he has also collaborated with other artists, such as Rozz Williams (Christian Death), Deathpile, Blood Axis (as touring keyboardist), Jerome Deppe and Naevus (not to mention Thomas Nola).

ANDREW KING, who appears here as George III, epitomizes the concept of an artist steeped in the spirit of Tradition while exploiting the technology of the Modern.
He is one of the few neofolk musicians in the world with actual knowledge of actual folk music (encyclopedically so!) and his most recent undertaking is a song cycle related to The Great War (better known to most as World War I).

We finished recording “Elderbrook” (double-CD). I’m still grooming the chronicles themselves (4 volumes) and thinking about format for the whole caboodle.

Writers Victoria caught my pitch for a Fairy Tale edition of ‘The Victorian Writer’, out this Dec-Jan, featuring my own story as well as articles by The Monash Fairy Tale Salon’s wildly brilliant, savvy Dr Rebecca-Anne Do Rozario, and acclaimed fantasy author Dr Kate Forsyth, both members of The Australian Fairy Tale Society.

My pet word ‘Taradiddle’, which I adopted from The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing & Ideas, home of Writers Vic, is playing happily. It appears twice in the fairy tale edition; once in my story, the other in an advert I placed for our faerie circles, e.g. The Monash Fairy Tale Salon, Australian Fairy Tale Society, Myths & Legends Fairy Shop, Storytelling Australia Victoria and The Midsummer Faerie Rade by Golden Owl Events.

Next Midsummer Faerie Rade is Sunday 17th January 2016. Gather in Treasury Gardens at 1:30pm. Rade starts 2pm.

The Tumbling of Creatures features twelve pieces of music written and performed by hurdy-gurdy virtuoso Cliff Stapleton, recorded between 1984 and 2014 with various groups and theatre companies. Stapleton’s compositions, and his interplay with other artists, reveal his remarkable creative life with this ancient instrument, the hurdy-gurdy: from the powerful folk-dance of Blowzabella to the cosmic invocations of Coil and Cyclobe.

The Tumbling of Creatures is presented in a four-panel, handmade concertina-style cover, silk-screen printed in copper and black ink with a card insert. The artwork features 16th-century masks created by the Flemish artist Cornelis Floris de Vriendt, engraved by Frans Huys and exquisitely brought to life by designer Ania Goszczyńska.
