Here is a site that has nice video footage. Unfortunately it's all in German. Click on the ones with Papa's picture. Also on the far left click on "Bildergalerien" and you'll find some nice photos to en-choy.

A VARIETY OF LOVELY PAPA PICS
I snatched this link from the French section. It is a series of photos by the Catholic Press Photo group. Click on Papa's photo and a page full of a variety of his photos will appear. If you click on the number of the specific photo, it will enlarge but a big CCP will appear across it. Even so, the pics are lovely.

Even if it is German, check out the video clips on the br-online link willow provided. I particularly like the 4-minutes-plus clip showing Ratzi as Archbishop. It includes an excerpt from his homily at his consecration - that's how he sounded when he was 50 years young! - and a short sequence of him confirming some kids.
I saw this clip first on the Russian site
http://www.benediktxvi.ru/video.html
where they have assembled some 7 short video clips (download-able)about Ratzi from various sources. The other clip I particularly enjoyed on that site was taken at one of Ratzi's Angelus hours at Les Combes - a sequence taken while he is greeting sick and handicapped pilgrims, and he does everything -kisses babies and children and signs anumber of autographs even.
The Les Combes site had many events of that vacation
on line but I was having problems with Real Player at the time, so I could not get to see them. Maybe it's time I went back...
As for the Catholic Press Photo link, it's really worth visiting if only to print out all the thumbnail pictures they have of Ratzi, and because they have shot probably the best "portrait" picture series (several of them over the years) of Ratzi as Cardinal. Danielle Levergne says it's easy to order the photos you like, and it seems it's not very expensive. |

Can we post copyrighted photos here, as I see they do at the main thread? I did read somewhere, I’ve forgotten exactly where, that the use of copyrighted photos for this purpose was rather questionable??? |

LutheranGuest -I brought up the copyright issue with Ratzigirl when the "ban" was imposed at RFC...The main forum above continues to use photos from the various agencies, watermarked or not. So, until we get instructions to the contrary from Ratzigirl, I believe we may go ahead and post such photos here.
And I'm glad of that, for obvious reasons, plus, in your case, that you always posted such wonderful selections in the other forum that we'd all hate not to see whatever you have turned up! |

I'D LOVE TO COMMENT - BUT WHAT IS THE PRODUCT? I tried to use a magnifying glass to see if I could make it out, but no go!
Ratzi as cardinal always seemed to be good-humored about being photographed for potential "commercials" - he's done quite a few with beer, I think. |

Yes, Teresa. It seems like Ratzi’s favourite weiss-beer to me. Bag-in-box weiss-beer?
I think we have seen Ratzi and the gentleman in the middle posing with glasses of beer on both forums.

I agree that it seems to be a beer bottle, at first I thought it was the back of a box of cornflakes.
I notice a certain red sofa on the right of the photo - we've seen Ratzi sitting on it in a number of photos. Could this interior be a room at the CDF, then? It seems to be one which he regularly used, anyway.
I should like to sit on that sofa, and pour coffee and cut cake...... it is so very elegant |

The Sofa
I think that sofa was at the CDF office. It appeared in the EWTN interview Raymond Arroyo did of the cardinal at that office. I just watched the video (for the 4th time) this morning so I definitely recognize it. That could be a wine in a box he is promoting but then again he did seem to enjoy beer. I bet he's cut back on both beer and sweets now that he is pope. He definitely seems to have slimmed down somewhat in the past 7 months. |

Hello everyone! Yes, I saw somewhere that it was illegal to post copyrighted photos - indeed, any photos and that we would all end up with our heads on the block for doing it!Oooooh - I'd be a martyr any day for Papa!
Well, not to worry our heads about where we saw it - just let's have fun now!
I love that pic!!!! Probably an advertisement for beer, but what are they saying? Yes, I think that's Papa's old office at the CDF. I've been there in my dreams
By the way - I've still not been able to register, but I'll take a look at the special thread about it. Lovely that we already have so many discussion threads! I'd really like to get a little pic - avatar - on this forum.

Papa looked so meraviglioso at Vespers, but did he have a bit of a headache? Oh dear - now I have to take the next flight to Rome with some soothing Disprin or similar. And a lot of TLC too, of course!
Love, Mary x

I want an Avatar too but can't seem to get it. Help... please...!
Mayjos - finally, you're official! COOL
I love the detail on Papa's vestments in that photo... somewhere in the Vatican there is a group of women who do the detailing and restoration... now that is dedication!!! |

Ratzigirl has been posting so many gorgeous pictures of Papa in gold-and-old rose(or almost-fuchsia), but I am borrowing one to post here because...UMMMM... and I want to know if the animal found on his breast clasp is a unicorn, which it seems to be, with its single horn. But I am poor-sighted so please help!
P.S. And note the bit of ciuffo sticking out from under the miter! [Modificato da TERESA BENEDETTA 28/11/2005 0.44] |

Papa wants a new head covering From RosaLaTedesca in "Per divertirsi un po'"-
Pope: Madame, they have just taken away my miter, but I am not too happy with this skullcap either. So why don't I surprise all those who say I am a retrograde traditionalist who does not want to change anything? I want a new head covering as cheerful as yours! Where can I have one made?
