UP FROM THE ASHES - DON DOKKEN

the other guitar player billy white is from the same city that I live in (austin tx) but I think he lives in cali now (an amaizing story how he got hooked up with dokken!!) but this is the first album (up from the ashes) that I heard john norum on (except for the song final countdown, which I dont care fore that much), and I really liked it! I learned about half of the songs on guitar but there was always some part of the leads that I couldnt get 100%!! lol.
My son and I were just talking about this album and I'm probably gonna dig it out and play to it in a few minutes. My favorite album is worlds away,,,,,the guitar tone is the best of the albums that I HAVE heard from him and the songs and leads are over the damn top!! I want to get his new one comming out and second hand smoke (frank marino tribute) cause I've always been a huge frank marino fan too!!

First time that I heard this album I didn't like it so much, the sound didn't seem very strong like other Norum's albums.
I liked only two songs, as Mirror Mirror and Stay, which I saw also the video..
But I made a mistake infact later I heard all the album, quietly, and I changed my opinion, now I must say that this is not a beautifoul but a wonderful album ...I love all songs, in particular Crush and burn, 1000 miles away, MIrror mirror, Stay, Give it up...and I'm very happy that our guitar hero played with the great Mr. Dokken..

Oh yes, this is a marvellous album!!!!
I adore all the songs but my favourite is "When love finds a fool"....

I LOVE this album too!! It is so great and John sounds amazing on it. I saw them when they toured for this album and it was unbelievable! John was just rocking out on that tour!
Long Way Home is good too. I love Sunless Days! That is my favorite song on that one.

This LP (yes,I only have the LP, and of course the original MC) is feat. John Norum on guitar!
This is problably the only record recorded with John and another guitar player, Billy White. We all know that John is a Lonely wolf on playing guitar, he likes to be the only guitar player in a band...
